    SEMIFINAL ORDER OF PLAY (12.00pm & 06.30pm) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...F3D6BB-D4E1-4185-840A-8619D6F86854&d=20161126

    *MS Semifinals :
    - Sameer Verma (IND) v Jan O Jorgensen (DEN)
    - Hu Yun (HKG) v Angus Ng Ka Long (HKG)

Sameer Verma who got promotion into main draw seize golden opportunity of limping draw to check into semifinal in Superseries tournament, coincidentally the Indian youngster defeated two promoted players and one qualifier en route to create his breakthrough here. An uphill task awaits him next, strong contender Jan O Jorgensen who continues his fine form following his sensational winning over Chen Long in CHN Premier last week. The Danish ace edged past Wong Wing Ki in last eight and he's expected to cruise into last round. On bottom half of draw, host Hong Kong has guaranteed 1 final spot as their two players from different generation will cross sword this evening. Ng Ka Long overpowered Ajay Jayaram while Hu Yun knocked out Sony Dwi Kuncoro in quarterfinal. The 22 years old Ng will be motivated to do better than last year result when he was thwarted by Lee Chong Wei in semifinal.

    *WS Semifinals :
    - Carolina Marin (ESP) v Tai Tzu Ying (TPE)
    - Cheung Ngan Yi (HKG) v Pusarla Venkatta Sindhu (IND)

The high-spirited with fully supported by home fans Cheung Ngan Yi stunned Saina Nehwal in a thrilling game, after led 18-11 at final game Nehwal got second wind and slowly catched up but at the end Cheung sealed quarterfinal match with 21-19. Home hopeful will face another Indian star, Rio silver medalist P.V. Sindhu. The tall Indian also had similar story in high intense match, trailed behind 7-14 against the underdogs Liang Xiaoyu but Sindhu showed her capability and fighting spirit to prevail with 21-18 in third game, there's a protest by Sindhu for disputed line calls at 18-17 position. On top-half draw, out of prediction that both Marin and Tai Tzu Ying passed last eight comfortably to defeat Japanese opponents Akane Yamaguchi and Aya Ohori respectively.

    *MD Semifinals :
    - Mohammad Ahsan/Rian Agung Saputro (INA) v Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (DEN)
    - Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda (JPN) v Chai Biao/Hong Wei (CHN)

Indonesian new partnerships Ahsan/Saputro started to show their progress here to eliminate world number one Goh VS/Tan WK in fast-paced three games then they will find another stern test, Danish vast experienced Boe/Mogensen who defeated Malaysian promising pair Ong YW/Teo EY yesterday. Kamura/Sonoda are expected to take the mantle as Japan first MD after Kenichi Hayakawa announced his retirement and the dangerous duo look good to advance into last round against China Chai/Hong, the Chinese pair have negative head to head stats, never won in their previous four encounters.

    *WD Semifinals :
    - Bao Yixin/Yu Xiaohan (CHN) v Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen (DEN)
    - Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan (CHN) v Huang Dongping/Li Yinhui (CHN)

It's quite long time not to see China WD dominate semifinal in Superseries tournament, Juhl/Pedersen are surrounded by three Chinese pairs here, they will face the unranked Bao/Yu who delivered big upset in last eight to dispose the Olympic Champion Matsutomo/Takahashi. The below-par Japanese duo had trouble to overcome the unfamiliar foe Bao/Yu. On lower half draw, Chinese youngsters eliminated Korean rival, Chen/Jia ousted China Open champion Chang/Lee while Huang/Li defeated second seed and Rio bronze medalist Jung KE/Shin SC in tight contest.

    *XD Semifinals :
    - Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet (HKG) v Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (INA)
    - Choi Sol Gyu/Chae Yoo Jung (KOR) v Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto (INA)

Maybe this category is the best chance for Indonesia to pick title here considering high world ranking and experience but both Ahmad/Natsir and Jordan/Susanto should pay attention to their unheralded semifinal rival today. Tang/Tse shocked top-seed Ko SH/Kim HN at opening round and The Adcocks at last eight prove this local hopefuls are no pushover. Choi/Chae dumped two Chinese pairs in a row, Lu K/Huang YQ and Zhang N/Huang DP, the Korean young duo knocked out Jordan/Susanto last week in Fuzhou. At the brink of losing, recent All England winner saved one match point to turn the tables against home favourite Lee CH/Chau HW in quarterfinal stage.
