Filter coz it reduces (filters out) high pitched sound and dull waves, thus leaving only that 'louder and sharper' sound ( whatever sound that is..could it be a big 'DIIIIIIIIINK'? :p )

I won't call it an amp unless yonex can prove how many Db does the sound are amplified.

lol. I wonder if anyone would open up their racquet to verify what this "famous" sound filter might be. Ya. I sound like those ppl who buy the latest apple gadget and crack it open from a to z.

    haha.
I also wonder what material does Yonex use for the sound filter.

Yonex are now implementing some sort of 'psychological war' technique into their racket design..heheh.
I don't know what this sound filter is, but maybe some sort of foam or insulation material (cotton :p ) or could be some small gremlins :p . I know they use foams in between jet engines cowlings to minimise the unwanted loud noise.

just had a look at Yonex UK website, and apparently, they listed the VT 80 being 3U G4 as opposed with VT 70 4U, G4. That's new..given the fact that all of AT here are 4Us.

looks like they'll release the players sleeveless tribal shirt too. Probably during the AE. :)

Are we going to see a 5U soon?

    What's next?

A full size racquet with the weight of a toothpick? If the technology is possible (in reducing the weight) while the shuttle is still the same weight, can we be able to propel it with enough power minus the mass behind the racquet?

maybe after the tri-voltage system, yonex is going to come out with a jet propelled system whereby even with a very light racket the force still the same ? =)

my quick review on the VT80.

i played around 5 or so games with it. the demo that Synergy brought had BG66UM on it at around 26lbs. it is pretty tight as it was done in a ES5Pro.

the VT80 is a very good all around racket. it is fast, but not incredible fast like the BS10; it is powerful, but not incredibly powerful like the SW35; it has a decent solid feel but not SW35 type solid. but that makes it rather ideal for most players. kinda like a ARC10. very good on all things but nothing in particular stands out higher than other.

i only managed to spend a little time with it. and since it wasn't a string that i am familiar with, it was hard to make judgement on it. however, so far it feels like a very promising racket. i will try to borrow it longer next time to get a better feel for it.

thank you to the folks at Synergy Badminton who brought a couple of VT80 demos for us to try.

I thought the 80 was suppose to be as strong as the 700. So would you say the SW35 is more powerful than the 700?
