Yep, it's her right kneecap dislocation. The doctor ordered three weeks rest followed by a period of recuperation. But, fortunately, it's not that serious as to require surgery, so at most only a few of her CBSL matches will be affected. As she's not expected to play any tournament next January, it should have little to no impact on her OG qualification when the Olympic cycle resumes next March.

Zhao YunLei is once again the cover girl for the Badminton Magazine. In her Weibo entry on March 28, Zhao YunLei said:

Thanks to Badminton Magazine for reporting on my professional life for the fourth time. I have too many things that I want to share with fans who care and encourage me. Thanks for your acceptance and suggestions. My health has not been good lately. I encountered the challenges of injury and sickness. However, I will persist on, for the sport I love and you enthusiastic fans. Jia You!

Unless I saw the image here, I wouldn't know that it was Zhao Yunlei.

The thread title has been trimmed to show only the player's name.
This is to bring uniformity to all the players' threads in the Professional Players section.

TQ/ZYL, the reigning Olympic and World Champion in WD, has not been selected for Rio Olympics!!!

The twin Luo sisters will take their place instead!!

That's a good, sensible practice, otherwise we might end up with thread openers trying to outdo each other in the bragging department. And many of them may have to eat humble pie when their chosen ones are far from what they wished for.

Undecided yet, still mulling over it. But, why not, she's 30 years old already. Time to get married and start a family, for a woman the more so, assuming her relationship with Zhang Nan is doing fine.

I'm not saying it's a must for women to get married and have children by 30, just thought it's a tradition, a social norm, for most people in a largely conservative Chinese society.

Well, you'll have to design new plans for her now!

Are we going to experience a sort of "dark age" in badminton? So many top stars are retiring, leaving a void in some disciplines.

Obviously a bit of exaggeration, but one can't deny that the results of this olympics + retirements make you question how long it will take until the youngsters start to come out of their shell and fill the gap. We've had so many contenders for the "greatest of all time" players in each discipline, perhaps a bit spoiled to expect them to come around all the time.
