Miss-hit, gone. Going to get it restrung with ZM70, can't afford to be breaking strings so fast (even though it was a miss-hit).
I would say that Z70 is "Z62, but thicker" - there's no way I should be able to hit this hard with ANYTHING at 31, but somehow Z70 keeps its replusion. It's less grippy than Z62, but that may be because my Z70 is white and my Z62 was yellow; I need to get hold of some yellow 70 to do a fair comparison. I can't really compare it to Z67 - IMO 67 is the "difficult child" of the Zymax trio, not having that special "Zymax-ness" that the other two display.
ZM62. very interesting string. the medium speed repulsion is really very good, like drives and clear. the shuttle just bounces off with a light flick. the low speed feel is alright. i don't feel that it make too much difference in heavy smashes. need to spend more time on that. but i find it an excellent mixed doubles string, a lot of push and drives and half court light smashes. perfect for that purpose... how does ZM67 compare?
Dear Kwun, Panda will send you some: ZM67 ZM70 ZM Pro, soon to be released (aka ZM65) = ZM62 but in 0.65mm. You'll have it by Friday.
ZM pro ? Care to enlighten us more ? Obviously this is a new string, are you able to give us a review ? Or is it just ZM62 but more durable, (due to it being 0.65mm)
Hehe - Dink has also pledged me some of this new stuff, but I'll have to earn it with a subsequent review. Finally, a decent string in red! Hopefully it will address the durability problems of Z62; if it's 90% as powerful with 50% better durability I will consider it a total success. A lot to ask, I know...
i though zm70 is better than bg 65. but once i played zm62..... zm62 just great. no problem to string- too thin, too easy but durability is the problem need to solve!
There is a trade off between durability & performance......0.62mm is incredibly thin surely we cannot expect the same durability?
Z62 is a stringer's DREAM: thin AND stiff. You can pretty much throw it through shared grommets, it keeps a good point, and it's no effort to weave. The only possible detraction is that knots would fall through grommets that would hold thicker stuff more easily.
so here is my rackets for this weekend's tournament (if Dink sends the string in time): ARC10 - ZM62@23.5lbs ARC10 - ZMPro@23.5lbs ARC9 - BG80@24lbs Cab22 - BG80@24lbs Jpsee 99931 - BG80@24lbs ARC10 for mixed ARC9/Cab22/Jpsee for doubles smashing
Ahaha Dink, sounds like the new ZyMax is in demand. On a side note, since the Red string looks SOOO good, would it be possible to convince ashaway to drop silver and get red instead??? we can start a petition or something XD
Errrrr, to date, no one except a few locals have seen the red Ashaway string. Anyway, it's the best red color string I have seen. It's a brilliant red, so nice.
NO no no i meant the BG70 Pro red string, and the red string you sent me. Those were niiiice. There's a red ashaway string? I didn't know that. I thought the most red was the Microlegend string.
Dink's packet didn't get here on time for the tournament, but i did have a ZM67 so i strung that up the day before. it feels similar to the ZM62 but there are some differences. both my ARC10 are strung @ 23.5/23.5 using the same pattern. the only difference is that i moved the tie-off for the top cross to A13 (or whatever is the other end of B10). both have the same model grip, and same U/G. - it doesn't have the crispy feel of the ZM62. ZM67 feels a bit more dull. ZM62 is the most crispy string i have tried. - ZM67 power is slightly higher than ZM62 to me, the ZM67 isn't a ZM62 in 0.67mm. something was lost going from ZM62 to ZM67. the dullness of the ZM67 make it not as good in comparison. it seems that something has been dampened with it. the difference is noticable in A/B comparison. personally, my recommendation is: ZM62 for the players who prefers a fast control game. the speed, feel/feedback, and crispiness has no comparison. I love this string for mixed doubles where majority are very fast quick touches and only occasional pin-point smashes. ZM67 better for the power player who likes fast and hard smashes, and willing to sacrifice some feel in return.
