Greetings, Wishing to all@BC... An Enjoyable and a Happy Autumn Moon Festival Many myths have been said about this festival. Perhaps, some of you could add/explain the story about this festival. Cheers... chris@ccc
Same to you Chris! As the ancient Chinese poet Su Shi wrote: "May we all share the same moon forever, no matter how distance we are." (但願人長久 千里共嬋娟) Although I donot know many of the memebers in person, may our friendship last forever! Happy Mid-Autumn Moon Festival!
Happy Mid Autumn Festival to all in BC #after mooncakes feast, pls take more chinese tea..... #dont forget the 'tanglung" and lite up your house i want to have 3 public holidays, just like in China:crying::crying::crying:
here, on Earth, we only have 1 moon. unlike planet Jupiter... however, i do hope friendship and keep-in-touch to last in my lifetime....
Our Club celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival this Friday with "a mouth- watering dinner spread at the in-door food stalls and an exciting line-up of performances and activities". Our choir will also be performing a medley of Chinese and English songs which includes "Moonlight Bay", "Blue Moon" and of course Theresa Ting's Mandarin version of "Moon represents my Heart". Six pairs of our singers will also grace the catwalk to show off some beautiful clothes for the fashion show segment. It should be a fun-filled and musical evening and there will naturally be mooncakes and lanterns all round!
As a matter of fact, Singapore started celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival about 2 weeks ago with dragon dances, songs and music, etc, in Chinatown. Fireworks closed the evening's celebrations. Chinatown itself is decorated with giant lanterns of fairies, birds and other animals. The entire Eu Tong Sen Street is lighted up and closed to trafiic in the evenings. Many took the opportunity to revisit the place during this time. And at the Chinese Gardens out in Jurong, the traditional yearly display of man-made giant lanterns, this year apparently depicting sea creatures, including the popular dolphin, is held for all to enjoy and remember the occasion. I must visit to see things for myself!
We hope that our friendship will last forever Hi drifit, Couldn't find a "tanglung" for sale in Melbourne yet. Perhaps, I should try to make one myself. Hey Loh, Your Badminton Club members singing and showing off their beautiful clothes ??? They are so talented. Please send them our greetings from BC. And thank you for sharing your photos with us. Never thought that the festival could be so BIG in Singapore. Yes, as quoted by Linus... We hope that our friendship will last forever. Cheers... chris@ccc
someone did propose this; put the candle in the shuttlecock, hang the shuttlecock using BG66 onto Yonex Ti-10......... there, you have a badminton tanglung
