Little Confused when Doing Cross
Hi all,,
I get my new machine 6 point with no fixclamp.
3 Rackets that i've been stringing.
I always confuse when do cross, what i must do when the frame getting move inwards during tensioning?
Should i adjust the side support to minimize the gap, or just let it that way..
Please gimme an advice cos i'm a newbie...

Some machines have supports that automatically move inwards to close these gaps as the frame moves in (Babolat Stars, for example), but basic machines like ours do not. As long as the racket cannot move more than a milimetre or so, and it comes out symmetrical and with the same length/width ratio as an empty frame, you'll be fine.
It could be that you are not tightening your shoulder supports enough at the beginning - they should be tightened until the frame just begins to deform inward (but no more); the aim is to keep the frame from moving, not to change its shape before you start.

^^ It happens to me as well, so I would have to say it was normal
. No frame I've ever strung has broken in the machine or come out asymmetrical, and I've done about 300...

that happens to me on some softer racket and when i go above 25lbs. i think that is pretty normal. i just close in the side support. at this point the side supports are not doing anymore protection to the frame. the tensioned strings already is holding the racket in shape. the reason to tighten them is to keep the frame from sliding in the turntable and risk slipping out.

thanks kwun, i did that on 5 last racket, and perfect, the frame move only 1 mm, and my friend very exciting when use his racket, he said the string so alive. The local shops never doing Main from center, they always do from side of frame with 2 knots.

from INA = Indonesia ?
as for your information many local shop now do it from centre for the main, and 4-knots, especially if the owner join the local badminton forum www.tepokbulu.com
some even used digital machine from Victor, Eagnas or Wise2086
2-knot a-la Victor or Gosen Haribito also good
now more and more shop tarik from centre for the Main, and Cross from top.
