    Surprises :

Zulfadli's amazingly easy 21-9; 21-13 win over Iskandar.

Ramdan actually beat Kuan Beng Hong.. :p

Yeah, an easy win for Zulfadli:eek: Since the Thomas Cup in Japan, Beng Hong hasn't made much improvements has he? :(

Cheah Like Hou/Chow Pak Chuu beat Pang Zheng Lin/Tan Aik Quan

I think PZL is really not up to standard... Anyway congrats to Cheah and his partner, especially Cheah handicapped, so I will always support him :)

Hope Ow/TWK can do something against GTC/TBS :)

    MHC/LYL bt HTH/GLY 21-17; 21-19  What!???

TWK/WKW won, phew. Unfortunately their XD seems to be stagnant since they almost never play with each other any more. :( And aw, thought that TWG/LMY could upset Vountus/NHE.

Too fatigued after AJC perhaps, it's just a local tourney anyway. Hopefully not injury, still have the WJC coming

I think it's fatigue from the AJC. Hectic for him.

    LCW injured ??

This doesn't bode well for him.

He might be cursed for all World Championship events in his career (including the one next month).

being number 1 seed and injured/losing in early rounds each world championships.

bad luck for him always at crucial major tournaments.

I guess he is destined to be hailed as the Super Series King only at the end of his career.

London-bound Sabrina, Jian Guo fail to impress
    By KNG ZHENG GUAN
ALOR SETAR: While Chan Peng Soon is yet to fully recover from his back injury, the injury bug has hit yet another member of the World Championships-bound squad.
This time, it is mixed doubles shuttler Sabrina Chong who is now down with injury, less than a month away from the World Championships which will be held in London from August 8-14.
The 24-year-old Sabrina injured her back while lifting weights during a training session last Wednesday and on Monday she suffered yet another injury, this time to her right thigh.
With that injury, Sabrina and Ong Jian Guo who are the top seeds in the Kedah Open as Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying are playing separately, crashed to an uninspiring 19-21, 14-21 defeat to Mak Hee Chun-Lim Yin Loo in the quarter-finals yesterday.
“The injury is actually quite bad because I am now carrying two injuries instead of one and it is just disappointing to lose,” said Sabrina.
“Before the injury my performance was not too bad and now I just hope to recover in time and improve on my performance before the World Championships.”
Meanwhile, national mixed doubles coach Jeremy Gan is certainly not impressed with Sabrina and Jian Guo’s performance yesterday.
“Sabrina’s injury has certainly hampered her movement on court. She is already not the fastest player and with that injury it has made her even slower,” said Jeremy.
“As a pair they didn’t play too well either and its just not good enough. Maybe they’re distracted by the World Championships and weren’t willing to put too much effort into their game.
“Right now I’m just hoping that Sabrina and Peng Soon recover fully from their injuries first before I set any target for the World Championships,” said Jeremy.
Sabrina-Jian Guo are the second ranked mixed doubles pair in the country behind Peng Soon-Liu Ying and they are ranked No. 33 in the world.
However, their performances of late, with the Kedah Open included, have been less than impressive.
The World Championships squad will go for a centralised training stint in Bath University from July 27-August 5.
