As the title says.. I recently bought a Cab 20 SP.. After playing with it once I found a square 'scratch' on the top of the cone.. really small..like 1 or 2mm in dimension.. Is it possible it is a crack?
A cracked cone will make clicking sounds against the shaft when you flex it in your hands or if you hit with it.
Yonex cones are wooden inside encased in a conical shaped plastic outer shell. we have never seen the plastic cone crack so that's really unlikely to happen. what's likely to happen is that the paint will chip at the very top from the flexing under normal play. that's common and pose no structural damage. an alternative is the glue that glues the plastic cone to the wooden cone come loose. in which case the wooden cone is now no longer supported and any flexing will crack the wooden cone and result in the clicking noise that visor mentions.
thx everyone.. I got no good camera will try to take a picture later using my webcam I made a mistake ,the crack is on the top of the oval frame not the cone.. really sorry
