Our polling records for the last 3 majors; World Championships 2010 Lin Dan Wang Xin Jung Jae Sung & Lee Yong Dae Du Jing & Yu Yang Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir World Championships 2009 Lin Dan Wang Yihan Jung Jae Sung & Lee Yong Dae Du Jing & Yu Yang Zheng Bo & Ma Jin Olympics BEIJING 2008 Lee Chong Wei Xie Xingfang Jung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae Yang Wei / Zhang Jiewen Nova Widianto / Liliyana Natsir 2 out of 15 times that we got them right, not much to write home about really. This time round, so far we have Lee Chong Wei Wang Yihan, and Tantowi Ahmad & Liliyana Natsir Based on our past records, statistically to get all 3 right are close to zero chance. To get none of them right? Probably.
interesting info, AlanY. i think one of the issue is that most people vote based on their hearts and not based on reality.
. If assuming that each of the players/pairs to have 10% chance of winning the titles, then the chance of getting all 3 right should be 1 in 1000. But the fun of guessing who will win is immeasurable. .
All i know is, BC has made these "Who will win XX event" polls since 2004 OG. I believe there are more than 25 individual event polls total and last time i checked, the percentage of the polls being correct was less than 20%..
congratulations to us all, we actually got 2 predictions right this year in WD and MD. i seriously suggest that next time round we should have 2 sets of polls, one for the players you like to win and one for the players you think will win. then, our polling record may improve.
haha. that very true. and that reminds me, i need to turn the like system back on so i can like your post.
yep bc server got so crazy it took like ages to load during the peak of the match. I personally predicted 3/5 correctly going for Lin Wang Y and Wang/Yu. shouldn't have picked Jiaming/Tian, I would have had 4/5 if I stuck with Zhang/Zhao
. Me too. With my slow internet connection, I found myself with difficulty loading BC at the peak of the matches played at the FINALS. .
the players you think will win would end up with the players you are afraid to win. People never think. they can only pick the one they love when they are pompous and pick the one they are scared of when they are in panic
