I have recently had my racket restrung by someone new - my previous restringing fella used to put a very little trademark pattern on the strings. This is the first time I've got a completely bare racket in terms of it being completely unpatterned stringing. In danger of sounding a little ridiculous I would like to ask if anyone knows whether stencil ink for badminton strings effects the strings performance? I forget what thread or forum but someone suggested so and I just want to double check before I commence!
stencil ink DOES affect the playability and feel of the strings. however this angry panda design is fantastic as it manage to avoid stencil ink at the sweet spot area...nice..
Does it soften the strings or something then? Avoid the middle and your ok then you suggest? Thanks very much for you help. And by the way dimcorner - that design is pretty impressive!
I've found that my strings harden from the ink, in a manner that reduces repulsion and dulls the feel. Durability was worse as well. Then again I used Wilson ink that was originally made for tennis rackets...
Thanks. Taking all comments into consideration I think I should use Yonex ink, use only a little and only at the sides. I think I'm going to go for to diagonal lines at the bottom left of the racket just to add a bit of colour. Thanks guys
That is a cool panda logo. Am sure you'll win all the games. Your opponent must be laughing while playing. That'll kill them. lmao. Avoid putting stencil in the middle. I put mine at the bottom half.
Yeah I do random thing on it just to lighten up the mood/distract players I'll take a pic of my ti-10 with pink string and vampire teeth.
Bumping up an old thread, yes, according to my club stringer, stencil ink does more HARM to the string than good. Best to avoid them if possible. He said, for those professionals who change string after every match (FREE some more as they are sponsored, so have to "advertise"), no effect but for regular joes like us, it is not advisable.
I made a Hello Kitty stencil and put it on my wife's racquet, seems to make her more interested in the game! LOL
that's awesome, i should do that with my girlfriend's racket, but it would be stupid to put Gucci on a badminton racket, LOL
