what string tension should I strung my Ti SP SX....i don't understand the #'s yonex said on the site. Can someone explain and help me? Thanx
First of all, it depends on what string you are going to use. (If you use BG-65, you can definetely have high tension without major problems) Second, the tension would depends on your style of playing, and this refers to previous threads about string tensions. Try to search under "string tension".
im gonna use bg 60 probably........or bg 70 pro..so can you give me a suggestion for both strings..and im a smash singles player.......
I say you should be fine with 21x22 or 22x23 since you smash a lot. If you strung over 25lbs, the string may break faster than 22lbs. This applied to both BG-65 and BG-70PRO.
Personally, I think reasonable combination between 20 - 24 lb should be safe and good for most of players. 26+ lb might give u better control (of course, need to have the skill first), but both racket and string life could be well shortened as well.
Sometimes you'll run into bad luck and a hard mis hit will crack the racquet instantly or it may not. This is really dangerous with high tensions. Read this and you'll understand how it works when you go up in tensions: http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7884
u guess...you think i should go w/ 22x23 like jeff says yodum? what would you string it to..if you a plauyer liek me(singles smasher)
22/23 on what string? You mentioned you were an agressive attacker in singles so I thought you'd like something like 21/23 just to give it a tad more bounce... Depends on the string too. Just that if you play nylon, 22+ is kind of useless. Feels really awkward unless you hit the sweetspot 100% of the time or else you can bring the string easily.
Good choice on the BG-70 Pro. I've been only using it for the past year and I find it is THE string for players who don't want to cash in $25 for strings every 4 weeks. Its great tension-hold and durability are only slightly hampered by the fact that it does not generate tremendous power - at least not close to BG-80 or 85. But for its durability and relatively cheap price, I still call it my fav string.
