Has anyone tried out any of the racquets from JooBong?

    http://www.joobong.com (Korean site)

The racquets are all made in Taiwan but are not clones of any Yonex models and the recommended tension for the racquets are 27-28 lbs.

    interesting find...

can't read Korean either. but from the pics of the racket, it look like another clonex type racket. the same stuff:

    mp100/mp77 color scheme
    ultra power frame
    ti-mesh

one of the racket has something like the Gosen kickpoint, so we have a "Closen" racket.

I think that most of the lesser known manufacturers will try and cash in on Yonex's hype with the "muscle", "power frame", etc.

I didn't see any MP100 cosmetic racquet. One of the JooBong racquet that I'd tried has quite brittle paint. Two chips from shuttle hits. I spoke to the President of the JooBong company and was told that they had some quality problems with the paint which has since been resolved.

Apparently they also have new models (not listed on the website) and I am not sure if these are "clones" or not. A couple of the new models are T-Muscle 11 and T-Muscle 22. The T-Muscle 11 is apparently woven Kevlar/H.M. graphite mix whereas the 22 is Titanium/H.M. graphite mix.

Since these racquets are manufactured in Taiwan, I wouldn't be surprised if they came from the same factories that manufactured some of the other Taiwan-made brands.

Any details? The racquets are rated up to 28lbs so I couldn't imagine it cracked on a mis hit or something similar to that.

Do a search. Wunderbar has one. I have the 1300 and it's quite a nice racquet.

many clonexes are just OEM rackets. they go to a OEM racket manufacturers and ask them to stamp their graphics and logo on some standard rackets.

i am not surprised if JooBong rackets are that way as well.

i have seen an Alpha and a Ashaway with identical graphics stamped on them.

notice companies like Trump no only make their own brand, they are also an OEM manufacturer. in other words, if you pay them and ask them to make 1,000 rackets with your graphics and logo on it, they will happily do it for you!

hm.... let's have a racket brand call BCBF! does that ring nicely? :)

Good idea! We can make some shirts and rackets to promote badmintonforum and make money to support the web site. As my knowledge, a lot of coaches in Taiwan design their own rackets and let the factories manufacture the rackets for them. The small volume per batch is fifty rackets. Maybe someone can give new ideal in racket design. It will be very special and cool to playing with it......... :D
My suggestions to the racket are slim shaft, widebody frame with muscle power structure and full Ti mesh on the shaft and frame with ultra high modulus graphite....... :p

Yep, Winex is more that happy to do for you too with the only cavaet that the model numbering stays the same.

Check out Domino racquets - they will do the same too.

    Yonex is the BEST!

Yonex is the BEST! Trump sucks. Their quality sucks, and makes such awful clones of Yonex and put their logo on it. Man, if it ain't Yonex, but a Clonex, it is just crap. Ugh, and damn Winex and Finnex (which is now called another company I heard). And other wannabes. I don't have a problem with people who use it, but just feel as if they are victimized by those, bad BAD PEOPLE! Because I have a friend, who sells Trump (crap) and another friend who was once spnosored by Finnex along with other friends of his that are, well, pretty good players, I'd say. Good as in kick my ass any day. But yeah, Yonex, good, Clonex, BAAAAAAAAAAAAD! And not Bad in a good way like "Bad"minton, but EVIL!
