Let me open a new thread so that we will not go back to the other threads to post for/discuss the matches from today onwards.

Team INA has traditionally won at least 1 title in Vietnam for the past few years or so. So hopefully, we can maintain this tradition this year.

    MS R16
    Wei Nan
vs Alamsyah Yunus [4] - although Alamsyah is seeded no 4, it will be hard for him to win this tourney with the presence of Nguyen Tien-Minh as well as Sho Sasaki. Even this match will be troublesome for him.

Sony Dwi Kuncoro [15] vs Sho Sasaki [2] - the injury-ravaged Sony has so far won 2 easy matches. Up next will be the second-seed Sasaki. If he can beat Sasaki, it will increase his confidence for the upcoming tourney (Indonesia GPG).

    WS R16
Hera Desi vs Fu Mingtian - Hera Desi has notched some good results lately. Let's see if she can beat the more experienced Fu.

P.V. Sindhu vs Aprilia Yuswandari [6] - can April beat the in-form Indian young player who has beaten several INA players lately.

    MD R16
    Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan
[8] vs Low Juan Shen/Jagdish Singh -Rendy/Afiat ought to win this one!

Terry Yeo Zhao Jiang/Liu Yu vs Angga Pratama/Ryan Agung Saputro [5] - ditto for Angga/Ryan.

    WD R16
    Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Anneke Feinya Agustine
[5] vs Aparna Balan/Siki Reddy N. - with the absence of top WD pairs, hopes are high on Nitya/Anneke to deliver a title here. Let's hope they don't disappoint.

Chiang Kai-Hsin/Hsieh Pei-Chen [7] vs Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah - can the INA pair upset the seventh-seed?

Chou Chia-Chi/Yang Chia-Chen vs Komala Dewi/Jenna Gozali - the TPE pair is more experienced but I hope Komala/Jenna can beat them!

    XD R16
Terry Yeo Zhao Jiang/Dellis Yuliana vs Hafiz Faizal/Shella Devi Aulia - I hope the young INA pair can take this.

Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini [7] vs Putra Eka Rhoma/Aris Budiharti - the Pelatnas pair to win!

Chung Eui Seok/Yoo Hyun Young vs Mohd Rizky Dellynugraha/Richi Puspita Dili [5] - as a seeded pair, the INA pair should take this, but matches against Korean pairs are always difficult.

Riky Widianto/Shendy Puspa Irawati vs Chayut Triyachart/Yao Lei [2] - the second-seed progressed to the QF of the WC 2 weeks ago. Can Riky/Shendy show their potential by beating them?

Honestly, I don't rate the top seeded WD pair. Vivian/Woon is expected to win this, and I'm glad they did. :)

Looks like Daren really made it into the QF, eh. Let's see what he can do against NTM. Now hopefully CWF beats Hafiz.

Who knows she can advance into finale this time :D

End of today's R/16 morning session, INA has booked 3 QF spots so far through Irfan/Weni, Anneke/Nitya and Rendy/Afiat.

What do you think about this combo? I think they are clear cut better than irfan/weni or rizky/richie, IF shendy can more focus on her game.

    Unfortunately, Aprilia defeated by Indian Sindhu P.V, straight-games 18-21 / 19-21 :(
Alamsyah through to last eight, beat HKG Wei Nan, 21-13 / 14-21 / 21-12. Next, he will face tough opponent Ajay Jayaram. Ajay performed excellent to overcome Kenichi Tago at first round of WChamp couple of weeks ago.

SDK's journey in this GP has stopped by well-improved Sho Sasaki, 15-21 / 10-21.
