if you play often enough, you'll know to pee before a match

during a 1 hr match, they probably sweat like 2 litres, so don't have to worry about peeing

you normal don't feel going to toilet to pee because of sweating... even after the game.

Umpires will allow during intervals, but if you come back after the interval ends, it's an automatic red card.

But yeah, I've never seen anyone needing to go to the bathroom in any sports in the middle of the game. Imagine if it was during championship and you're going for the game winning score, but you need to go to the bathroom, what do you do?

well, i think pee'ing can be held in. but what if there are other more urgent matters... like say, a diarrhea?

i am serious, this is not uncommon among endurance athletes. while the body is spending all the blood sugar into the limb muscles, not enough goes to the digestive system and what end up is a mess of poorly digested food. if the player ate too much before the match, this can well happen on a marathon singles or doubles match.

i am glad that hasn't happen in a real match before, but i have had occasions when i experienced it myself (mild ones, not accidents in case you wonder... ). in both long distance cycling as well as in a long long day of badminton, mostly involving marathon singles game.

Just had a great idea: BWF should make it mandatory to install jiffy johns within 30m of every court for major emergency situations such as these! ...Then at least the deed can be done and over with even with a short towel break.

Surely the umpire will permit the player to go for a pee.

If not, the player will wet the court or will give up playing.

I think tennis allows toilet break. As for badminton, you can't pee on court. You have to stand still for a few moments and by that time, your opponent would have serve and perhaps score a few points.

On another note, F1 drivers will pee in the cars, you can;t stop in the middle of the race.

This happened to me. I was just too shy to ask the umpire for a toilet break. Thus, I finished the match fast. I lost. Hahaha.

I've seen it once a number of years ago in China. A ladies doubles player called WeiYi Li suddenly had to rush off court. Came back and they continued playing the match.
