    Unlikely.

Badminton rackets are so basic and simple to make (I'm learning), I find it hard to believe a highly paid sportsperson wouldn't have something made specifically for them. They could have a lifetime supply of rackets, fully customised into whatever they want, painted however the sponsor wants them to be painted, in literally a few hours.

Not to mention every KRP racket I've seen or used barely resembles a stock version of that model.
Agree, it is so basic. I believe that the unknown brand rackets will perform as good as the expensive racket according to one of the fellow BC Member who have tried several unknown brand rackets.

Regarding JJS racket or LYD racket or any players racket, it will still be debatable, until someone could really get LYD or JJS racket from a match and then compare it with the one floating around the market.

I wonder if they make the MX90 just an MX80 with a new material, whether it would sell well.

I think what most people are waiting for is a Victor with a real head heavy feel and spec (12 o'clock weighting).....although if Victor doesn't do it with the 90 or whatever I'd be pretty happy about that.

Don't know if this is the right place for it or if a new thread should be created, but MX-JJS is

    HH o0ooo HL
    S o0ooo F

just like the MX70 and lots of other recent Victor rackets as shown on the Victor China website.

Hmm... would have expected JJS's bazooka to be extra-stiff (though it's entirely possible he'll use a custom-painted 80, as speculated here).

No it's not going to be all black, that is the paintwork being hidden until it is released later on.

now that the MX JJS is officially out, i guess that squashes the MX90 rumors.

    for now.

I'll add 'squashing rumors....for now' to my list of other great American doublespeak such as 'no offense, but...' and '...just sayin''

In this regard, badminton is a bit different from tennis IMO. It is common that top badminton players use a prototype racquet painted in the same paint as a commercially available one before the new model is put on market. When the racquet is finalised and released on market, that will be it. The sponsored players will get racquets with a more stringently controlled range of of weight and BP, but not much beyond that. The amount supplied for the sponsored players is relatively minor compared with a full commercial, mass production batch, and I don't believe this justifies making a special small batch. What would customers feel if they know the racquets they spend premium price on only had the same paint as the ones used by world champions?

Badminton racquets looks easy to produce but there are a lot of know-hows involved. The quality of carbon fibre used, the formulation of resin, the woven technique, the t-joint and how the frame is shaped all play important roles in the making of a successful racquet. I have heard of people who actually own the KP version of MX80, a tad stiffer than commercial MX80 but not much more difference.

Professionals are more adaptive than us mortals. If memory serves, when Cai Yun was still sponsored by Yonex, he has used both AT900T and NS9000S, those are very different racquets with different BPs and shaft stiffness. When the Korean team was sponsored by Yonex, LYD back then used an AT800DE, again a very different racquet compared with braveswords.

IMO, BS LYD is a stiffer and headheavier version of BS09. I believe the transition would not be hard for a player of LYD's quality
