Today while playing my strings I knew they were going to break at the top (mains) at the sweet spot after the strings broke someone at the badminton club I go to showed me how to cut them. he showed me to cut the cross centre ones first then after that cut the main ones then the cross ones again, the person was tell me to cut the cross first then the mains and work my way around the racket because it relieves pressure of the frame. Is that right ? I also want to ask people on this forum. Do you wait for your strings to break? When you see signs of breakage do you cut them? and when you do cut them How?
everyone has their own theory on cutting strings. the most common one is: cut quickly, diagonally. the best one is one of the scissors i saw in a local club. the scissors is so big and sharp it just take a single diagonal cut and 80% of the strings are cut.
I cut the centre most cross and main string together, thn work alternately up and left and down and right from there, cutting a main and a cross at the same time, so you end up with a diagonal cut (in theory). In practice after the first 5 or 6 cuts most of the tension is gone and i cut the rest out in any order.
correct me if i am wrong. it depends on stringing pattern of the racket. 4 knots as it is on different tension on front n back, i cut in the side which is still intact. 2 knots any direction oso ok, cos it still 1 complete string.
