    Default Yonex Ratings

Yonex has a Rating chart on their site that compares flex, power and controll of their racquets...in my oppinoin, i find that they just use this to advertise their high end racquets, they say that racquets such as Cab10 tour(that has a muscle power frame), has power on the 3rd bar out of 6 bars on the chart...i find that ridiculous...a racquet with a stiff shaft and muscle power having that little power? what do you guys think about this chart? is it accuarate

How can they lie? If they do, than that's false advertising. They've got the best engineerings making rackets.

These ratings reflect there tests done with machines.
By power, they measure how fast the shuttle is travelling, when it is hit by the machine... they are under fairly controlled environments, I can't speak for them myself, but from what my friend at Yonex Canada tells me... this is pretty accurate.

    R&D they call it.

I think I saw a similar machine in Taiwan. It can measure the "power" of a racquet after flicking it a several rounds. You can then read the value from a LCD panel.

Btw, I think the chart can be used as reference. You don't need to trust it 100%.

    Very true.
You don't need to trust the charts Shaun, there are variations in manufacturing quality that might make things different... and also the human error factor... someone could mislabel the racquet as a 2U, and it could be a 3U, vice versa....
