Currently using 1-nanospeed 5000 with BG-66 ultimax, if not mistaken is 26 or 28 lbs... for all play 2-Fleet F-99 with prince 66, 26 lbs for smashing purpose..but it seems not strong enough.. going to buy yonex arc saber 10 few day later and will string with BG-66 ultimax, Need some advise from pros, what tension should i string it for a smashing purpose ?
higher tension do not mean for smashing play low tension also do not mean defensive play these are just wrong mindset assumption how high tension is depend on ur arm strength capable to handle to get that accurate shot on side line always start from low tension b4 moving to higher ones for your self adjustment dont trigger by pride to go for high tension above 28lbs ...not good for ur arm n budget in long run! player like LCW are sponsor and change string every game without cost, change into fresh racket every tournament
too high tension would cause you to LOSE power (and especially for smash and clear) maybe you can smash using a lot of power but it will tire you fast and a chance of being injured I would say if you do like 26 lbs on your NS5000, then keep it that way if you feel you don't have enough power for smash, try to lower it 1-2lbs
buying new? check what is the max tension the racket is suppose to hold due to warranty purpose. if not u string as u please. but if the racket break due to tension or any unforeseen clashes, u know what will happen.
I see this kind of question almost everyday from other badminton website. Pro's apple might be your poison.
Hi Alan, If you are used to 26-28lbs with BG-66 ultimax, then stick with it. I think prince 66 might not be as good as Yonex BG-66 ultimax. cheers
it is stated on your racket cone. something like this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/363/pbsiol9.jpg/ this is the official max tension for warranty purpose, if u dun bother about it or as i say your racket breaks up due to higher than the official max tension, the manufacturer wont honour it. if it is a new racket, i dun think the shop should say string it higher than the official max tension cos if racket breaks, it only means u can go back n buy another piece from him. sorry i have nothing against any shop, it just business ethics which i think all shop should have.
