    It's sad to read the news that Hiroe Yuki (Niinuma) died of cancer on Wednesday, 07-Sep-2011. She was 62.

    Any BCers remember how great a player Hiroe was?

    Hiroe won the All-England Championships titles 5 times;
    * Singles in 1969, 1974, 1975 and 1977
    * Doubles in 1971 (with Noriko Takagi)

    Hiroe helped Japan to win 5 Uber Cup titles between 1966 and 1981.

    In 2002, Hiroe was inducted into the World Badminton Hall of Fame.
