Hi guys, been using the prototype v1.0 and loving it! it fits me perfectly. 84gms, even balance, medium. Problem is that the string pops from the groove every so often. (razor guided groove thing). i can live without the razor guided grooves, i just need a similar racket that plays the same. the vapor trail tour has the same specs, does anybody know if its kinda the same racket without the razor guided grooves thing? any and all help would be much appreciated. regards, asmd.
I'd try the Vapour Trail Vanquish - that's near the specs of the PT1.0. I've got one and it's a dream to hit with.
anybody know how to prevent the string from popping from its groove? and does the razor v1.0 fix this problem. have become a carlton convert..
Before I tried the Carlton Prototype V1.0, The Yonex Arcsaber 10 was my favorite even balanced racket. But the Yonex Arcsaber 10 will feel a bit stiffer compared to the Carlton Prototype V1.0. If feel is important, I would suggest the Victor Brave Sword 12. which is even balance, has a aerodynamic frame and has a 'dynamic' flex.
Not sure, but Carlton name it that way so I quoted 'dynamic'. I would say medium flex. It's not stiff for sure. The flex of the Brave Sword 12 really feels like this.
noticed my first prototype had some damage to the groove that may is making the string slip, got myself another. hope its better. FWIW, the razor v1.0 is to be released in october. anybody know what improvements were made to the razor 1.0? also, will increasing the string tension cause it not to slip. the string it comes with is not that high of a tension.. 20, maybe 22 tops. Plus also poorly strung, some areas its obviously loose. what the theory with medium flex racquets? lower or higher tension will suit it better? had a lurid power 21 that played like a lucky charm with lower tension. i restrung it with yonex n98 at 24 pounds and it sucked something fierce. but n98 at 24 pounds on my carb 21sp is just about perfect. card 21sp is stiffer and head heavier than lurid power 21.
Razor V1.0 is already available in Holland and at Centralsports UK I believe (exclusively in UK). No idea what improvements have been implemented ... specs seemed about exactly the same.
I've been told by my stringer that the Rz V1.0 has a chance of breaking at the 3 and 9 o'clock, and he was told by the Carlton Rep in Asia. Any experiences with this so far?
