2011 Commonwealth Youth Games - Isle of Man . 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games - Isle of Man Events are held from September 7th to 13th. Badminton shall be held under these rules: Men and Women: 14 – 18 years of age (athletes born in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 & 1997) Max athletes per CGA: 4 men & 4 women. Men: Singles & Doubles – 2 men in the Singles, 2 pairs in the Doubles. Women: Singles & Doubles – 2 women in the Singles, 2 pairs in the Doubles Mixed Doubles: 2 pairs Venue: The venue for the Badminton events will be the National Sports Centre (NSC), based approximately 1.5 miles (2.4km) from the Games Village on Douglas Promenade and being the main sporting centre for the Games with Athletics, Swimming, Rugby 7’s and Mens Gymnastics also taking place on the same site. This £20 million multipurpose facility is truly the sporting centre of the Island. In September, 1991 the Athletics Stadium was opened by Steve Ovett, the former British and Olympic Champion. In 1998 the Pools, main Sports Hall and Health & Fitness Suite were opened. The development was completed by the opening of an Indoor Bowls Hall, a secondary Sports Hall and six Squash Courts in late 2000. The NSC Main Sport Hall which will be used for the competition is 44 x 36 metres and is the size of ten badminton courts. For the Games Yonex court mats will be installed to provide four competition courts and there will be over 500 seats for spectators. Four practice courts will be available in the adjacent Secondary Sports Hall.
