Hi, I did not really know which forum this goes in, this or equipment. I know a lot of people from this forum come from the Philippines , so i have a question. Well, i'm going back to the Philippines soon and I was wondering, are there a lot of real Yonex or a lot of good racquets there? I know there are alot of fake Yonex in Taiwan and the Philippines, but i was just wondering if it were very difficult to get say, a genuine Mp 99 JP for example? Or do you just not find one around there. thanks
Almost all Yonex models are available in stores here in Manila. Even the Ti10 can still be found in some stores. Unfortunately all of the ones that I've seen are NOT JP. From the many times that I've looked around (window shopping only), the codes that I've seen are SP, with an occasional TH and HK. The MP99 SP is widely available. Other brands that can also be seen at stores are Carlton, Prince, Wilson, Winex, and Babolat. Based on what I've learned in this forum (which is a lot), I haven't seen any fake Yonex in any of the stores that are found in the big malls. Although I know that the fakes are also widely available if you know where to find them.
I guess the chance of finding a MP-99 JP is 0% because it's called "MP-90" in Japan (so, if you see a MP-90 JP, don't throw it away as a clone !)
hi chub! sports shops in the mall only sell orig yonex products and other brands. if your looking for fake yonex rackets, just call me at (02)536-5120. i'm selling mp55, 77,99 and 100 for only Php1500 or US$29. not strung but if you want it strung with ashaway string @ 24lbs, it's + US$5. these products are not available in stores anywhere. thanks chief!
This is only from what I remember, and is two months old: MP99: P 13 - 14,000 (~US$ 245-264) MP100: P 9,000 (~US$ 170) MP88: P 8,000 (~US$ 151)
how would i know a genuine yonex racket from a fake one? no serial number on the fake ones? what else?
no, there are also serial numbers on fake ones. Search the forums, the topic of how to find fake yonex has been discussed alot.
there are many threads discussing about the clone yonex racquets in the equipment forum. Key points: 1. paint job 2. serial numbering 3. frame finish 4. model number 5. yonex logo You should watch out for above 5 points and if possible, buy racquets from Yonex authorized dealers.
for a good fake finished, you wont be able to tell by the five points above and few points that i mentioned below: 6. the length of the frame, normally the fake would be 3-5mm shorter or longer. 7. the racket plastic + cover case
even the fakes have serial numbers on them but they are printed in a bigger font. you can spot a fake mp55,77,88,99 by looking at the grommets near the frame and shaft. also, the logo at the bottom of the handle is quite distorted.
hey bambini...you think a Php2250 price for a fake yonex mp99 is fair enough? strung, but forgot the string brand... (i already posted this question somewhere in another thread, but anyways, i'm posting it again here) tnx!
nope. i'm also selling with ashaway string @ 24lbs for only P1750. P1500 w/o string. you can reach me thru +639178903334.
