    Default Head or Tail??

    when the Umpire ask player whether he (or she) wishes to pick Head or Tail before the match starts, is it customary to ask the higher ranked player?

    not really, some gentlemen/gentle-women might ask the opponent to choose first.
    some will just immediately say "head" or "tail" before the opponent does.
