Default Can anyone comment on these Victor Shuttlecock quality?

I've never played with these or even seen them this side of the pond. I've only used Victor Champion No.1 which used to be very good but now seems like quality has gone down.

ow are these in comparison to high quality birds, like Aerosensa 40, etc.

The best I've tried so far have been Yonex AS50 and AS40.

    Haven't tried Victor Champion No.1.

Tried Victor Tourney (bought at club pro shop) twice and hated it.
Either it's a bad batch or they just plain suck (I think it's the latter).

Trying RSL Classic Tourney and Yonex AS30 next.

    Hope that helps.

jacky I think you should stick with the Champion No.1 . I have like few tubes of them and its pretty good. If you think the quality gone down then maybe switch to even higher ones? Master ACE or Master No.1

I've used Victor Champion and found them to be very good in terms of consistency but a little slow for the courts I use.

I understand Victor have been busy sourcing new suppliers and they've also begun rebranding their shuttles internationally so you'll soon be seeing the Master series.

Victor seems to be reshuffling their shuttlecock series.

formerly they have Champion and Tourney series.

now they have been replaced by Master and Champion series. that means Champion has been downgraded to Tourney quality.

anyone who wants to get the same Champion quality as before will have to start looking into the Master series instead.

but if you comparing to Yonex As40
    still prefer AS40..

I am wondering if this is true or whether VICTOR have found a better shuttle and decided to call it Master? Anyone know?

Only in your dream. This is the tactic everyone does to raise prices, introducing a new one with higher price but practically the same old one, only new cover/presentation. The old one will either be discontinued or downgraded. Look at the Aeroplane thread for the photos.

There is always hope. Well I have tried Gold and Service and have to say that the Service shuttles were poor. The flights of all of them wobbled but the Gold were better. Both had good durability but neither were outstanding. There are cheaper shuttles that are better.

We switched to Victor Master No1 recently. However, the durability is bad. We spent average 3 shuttlecocks for 2 games. We could finished a dozen of shuttlecocks on 2 hours game. Yonex Aerosensa AS30 is much, much, much than Victor Master No1.

My club (approx. 100 tubes per season) used to play with Yonex AS30s, but we've noticed a drop in quality over the last few years. Last year we trialled Victor Service, Yehlex Championship and Yehlex Tournament. The Victor Service was considered the least poor in terms of quality, though all 4 brands/grades were close. In the end we went for the Yehlex Tournament because they were significantly cheaper & they have since proved to be similar in durability to what is now marketed as AS30s.

Coming back to your question, I would say that Victor service are marginally better and cheaper that AS30s. Probably not as good as AS40s, but substantially cheaper.
