look what i just got... thank you to SynergyBadminton who let me borrow their demo so i can do a review and comparison of the VT60 with the MX70. they are so nice to even let me string it for them so the comparison will be fair. i just got it today so here is just a teaser. review and comparison should be up in a week or so.
I had a test drive for the VT60 today and the control that it gives is very pleasant. Smashes nowhere as powerful as the VT80, as expected, but the speed and accuracy of my shots were what stood out off the get-go.
From the pictures, MX70 has slimmer shaft and thicker blade than VT60?? Which one is more heavy headed?? How about the flex??
just measured the VT60. it is a 4U. weight is 84.75 grams. BP298.5 in comparison, the MX70 is a 3U, so weight is 88.7 grams and BP296.5
fuu... so close, yet so far away... The blade and the shaft?? which one is thicker/slimmer? I assumed that vt60 is much flexible than mx70 ya?
^^ Having all the top features of mx series (octablade aero frame, woven carbon, 80 holes), the mx70 looks like it'll be faster, more powerful, and more stable than the vt60, which doesn't seem to have the top features of voltric series (ie thin shaft, tri voltage bumps). ..... Compared to mx70, Vt60 shaft is a tad thicker, frame is thinner front to back but less aerodynamic. If cost is factored in, mx70 is a no brainer choice over vt60.
The review is easy .-) To be honest they play quite differently.. The VT60 is more geard towards beginners... The MX60 is more for better players. The VT60, however, is much more beatiful and good looking!! If it comes down to looks I'll choose the VT60 any day The MX70 is really a way better racket . Pretty much better in everything, frame, shaft, power, agility etc.. I think in most places the MX70 even costs LESS!!! And I would choose the MX70 just to get rid of the stupid fat voltric frame-bumps, I call them speedbumps :-D
Ohh forgot to mention above.. I do very much look forward to Kwuns review.. Curios to learn his views of these racket :-D
Will be an interesting review for sure, but dare I say, extremely predictable (in terms of overall outcome). From most of my reading in the last year or so, Victor rackets on these forums are praised much much more than Yonex. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that if you take all the data out (individual posts) and balance them out, you'll have so much Victor praise that it will make you wonder why any brand but Victor exists (at least for non-professional players). From what I've read, equivalent Victor rackets are cheaper, faster, more powerful, more aerodynamic, and have better technology and frame shape than Yonex. When it comes to gameplay, Yonex rackets are generally slow and unresponsive, while Victor rackets are super fast and incredibly responsive. Anyway, let's see what kwun has to say hehe.
^^ Well, it'll be interesting for sure, as his mx70 is 4g heavier than the vt60. Let's see if it can just as fast, or faster.
yeah. i wish i have a 3U to do a more fair comparison. however, i think they are only bringing in 4U for the USA market like they do for the VT80. but well at least it is right up at the top of the 4U range. review will take a little bit longer as i still have 3 rackets in the pipeline to finish before i can even touch my VT60 and X70. i can only play so many times in a week.
