Badminton court in Columbus, OH area

Can everyone play in OSU?

Thank you for your information.
It says that OSU is available to play badminton. Can everyone not student use the university facility? And what day or time is good to play badminton? Since I have no badminton player in USA except for my wife, I want to go when there are many players.

This is Japanese just arrived here. I feel difficulties in English conversation. But I want to make friends through playing badminton. Please give me any information to play badminton. Thank you.

Worthington Recreation Center also Good Place to Play

We started playing in the badminton league at the Worthington Recreation Center last year and still play there. They divide the group up by skill level and you play with different people every week. We play on the weekends but I have also heard that people practice at other recreation centers in the area during the week, (Dublin, Columbus, and OSU).

The instructor at worthington is Derek Lee and he would be a good person to ask about practice locations in the Columbus area.

There is a BADMINTON CLINIC and a BADMINTON LEAGUE at the Worthington Recreation Center... here is the latest info for both so you can get an idea of cost and program length, but a new FALL BROCHURE will be released soon here:

I am moving into the Columbus, OH region in the beginning of May and was wondering about any places to play badminton in or around the area. I have been through some posts here which were a little "old". Just wanted to find out the current places if any to play.

Yes, as far as I know Derek Lee still runs a badminton league, clinic and occasional open gyms at the Worthington Rec Center. He may even know of some other spots in the area, such as in Dublin and Columbus. You can contact him at ckdlee01@hotmail.com for details.

There are 5 places that I know where you can play badminton in this area.
The Worthington Rec Center link above is still valid, check the Spring/Summer 2010 brochure once you get to the page.

All 3 above are adult leagues, registration is required, runs about 10 weeks per season

At Carriage Place Rec Center, it's open play, it can get crowded at times

Started playing in the Dublin Recreational Center league.
As far as OSU is concerned, played there a couple of times. Here are the details:
1 time pass - $10
Quarterly Pass - $144

The level of play is pretty good in OSU.

The next quarter I think starts in the last week of June.
Do let me know if anyone is planning on going to OSU to play.

Heh, so you have started playing. That's good.
Just to add to the OSU info.
I played there last Tuesday, that was my first time playing there.
Bought a pass for $85. That's a guest pass for 10 entry with no expiration date.
Also, there's parking fee to consider.

It's April-2016 does anyone have latest info with regards to where we can play badminton in Columbus area . I am on a short term visit to the area and wanted to see where I can play. Here is what I found so far.

At OSU you cannot walk in and play, a student or an affiliate has to get you in as a guest. They play here Friday and Sunday's I believe.

At the Worthington badminton clinic you have to pre-register to the league on open registration dates. They play on saturdays here

At Dublin Rec center did not get much info from help desk on when they play. So, still looking...

 

Dublin rec center is also not walk-in. They have 2 leagues (thu and sun).
Your best bet for walk in is at carriage place rec center on fridays and lazzele rec center on Wednesdays.

 

Do you know the level of play at carriage place or Lazzele rec center. I am an advanced player and would like to play doubles with folks at the same level to get the most out of my visit. Thanks for replying
