I've seen the new Carlton Razor series and I love the design, especially around the sides of the head, and I wondered if anybody has bought or tried one and if they noticed any difference that the stringing pattern makes and if I should consider buying one?

First, I thought the Razor was a new line, but it's actually the Prototype series. There is a thread about the Prototype V1.0 and someone tested V1.1.

It's a shame all info has to be gathered from shops since the Carlton website hasn't been updated for several years. These are potentially good rackets and I would like to buy them all, if the price wasn't too high. Global specs:

    V1.0
    Balance: Even
    Flex: Medium

    V1.1
    Balance: Stiff
    Flex: Head Heavy

    V1.2
    Balance: Head Light
    Flex: Flexible

I have the Prototype V1.0 which they promptly renamed the Razor. Best racket I've ever owned. Power is great and balance perfect, very nice feel.

Already got one, I agree it's a very good racket, bit flexible for me but it only cost me £50 so... :)

Yes mad price, I bought 2 already! Flex is just right for me. It feels less bendy than my previous Arcsaber 7, maybe because of higher string tension.

    got 3.
its may fav racket right now. Think i have to restring. The oem string tends to jump the groove.

PT V1.0 and VTT are my go to rackets!

Interestingly the two I have are differently strung by Carlton - one has 22 vertical strings with the last one on each side running inbetween the horizontal ones as there is too much gap to wind between them due to the weird stringing around the racket. The other only has 20 and is missing the last string on each side.

I've yet to notice any difference in how they play!
