Just a hypothetical question not from the money angle.

I would like to know if a what makes a female inferior to male in badminton that we cannot combine their division because all I can think of is smashing power. What females lack in smashing power they made up slightly in having more nimble body so I feel the difference is not big enough that it can't be combined.

For sure a woman can be as good as a man in chess and also in some horse riding disciplines men and women do compete together.

But maybe you mean women are inferiour to men in all "psysical sports" so to speak, because men are physically stronger.

KinkySmasher my answer to you is, that while it's most visible in the smashing, the best male players do everything faster and stronger than the best female players. But this is what is nice about mixed doubles, that we have both men and women playing against eachother. But in singles this is not possible.

Well the thing is that even in non physical sports like shooting, chess, bridge etc. etc. The best men usually outperforms the best women.. And we still have "women world championships" etc. in Chess which is really ridicilious imop-.

The sad truth is that amongst the 100 best chessplayers in the world there is only one (1) woman (Judit Polgar)..

    Yeah, you are right...

I guess it comes down to men simply being stronger, not only physically but also mentally. More competitive instinct.

a lot of time it is not better, but just different.

say, figure skating, is men really "better" or vice versa? i see them being completely different but not necessarily one better than the other. lumping them together makes no sense at all.

I do not think a woman have ever done the most difficult jumps etc like a triple axel in figureskating. When it comes to "grace" / "beauty" or subjective rather than objective measurements. I think we can all agree that women tops us men ;-)

In the case of badminton, it's not just the smashes. It's the speed around the court and stronger strokes overall (that can get them out of difficult positions)

first of all none of the top female players would come close to being in top 1000 men in the world.
It would be like a man beating up a woman who wants to watch that?
They would just get birds smashed in their face all day long, and even worse the women would all have to wear safety googles.

Tennis and badminton are some of the very few sports that let a man and woman compete together (in mixed doubles)

(i think they are the only sports, can someone confirm this fact for me?)

and sorry to burst your bubble but there is no cursing in my post just pure facts. Maybe in your dream fantasy world women and men would be able to compete with eachother but look at any sport soccer, boxing, football, tennis, basketball. There is a REASON women play in womens division and men play in mens division because nobody wants to see a man beat up a woman there is no pleasure in that. And on the internet not everyone is gonna agree with you just cause u have 20k posts doesn make u anything special on the internet.

thats very misleading beacause its MIXED doubles, its 1 man + 1 woman vs 1 man + 1 woman, different than 2 men vs 2 woman.

going by that logic u can have a soccer match of 6men + 5women vs 6men + 5woman and call it a division.
