    1. How do Technical official announce score when a player retire before start of second game ?

    b. How do Technical official record this on score sheet ?

    Appreciate your advice very much.

    Thanks a lot.

I believed that official BWF instructions to the Umpire (once they received confirmation from the player) is to announce "Player xxx retired, match won by Player yyy" or something to that effect and as for scoring on the score sheet, they just write "retired" against the retired player's name and the official score will look like "Player yyy vs Player xxx: 21-nn, retired".

It is "Player X or team retired, match won by YY, score" And on our scoresheet, we write retired for the player/team that lost. And for the score at the top we write the score and retired by the player/team that had to retire.

No, you write the existing score then retired. i.e. 1st game is 18-21, 2nd game is 6-7 retired. Or 21-18, 9-3 retired (depending who retired of course)
