Your sleeping, and you dream about badminton. Then all of a sudden you wake up and you notice that your arm is moving by itself. This happens to me so many times. I usually dream about serving high and deep in singles, and arm moves and points up then falls back down. Its so wierd!!
lol, i've heard of people doing that too, but i dont think i've caught myself doing that yet. i'd think its pretty freaky though
happens almost every night to me, as i am lying in bed i think about badminton, thinking through a rally a when the imaginary opponent hit its loose i find myself twitching to kill at the net or hit a smash, or antiticipate a drop. happens when watching videos aswell, but i think more strange when in bed. girlfriend worries. i think it is quite funny.
Lol. Happens to me all the time... once I slept on the floor while watching TV, my hand was under teh chair then suddenly PAMM! ouch! I woke up with a jump. I was actually trying to lob when I was sleeping and my hand banged the chair! LOL! And my mum and cousin told me I'll start swinging my arm when I'm sleeping... but the weird thing is, I don't dream about badminton when I'm swinging my arms at night!
hahahahaha when i was young (10-14) and slept in a bed placed against the wall. I bumped my head many times on the wall while sleeping. I was ducking bullets in my dreams... reallly, not kidding.
lol, this is great, I thought I was the only one. whenever i sleep at a friends place they say that i talk, walk, and play badminton in my sleep. Most recently was the weekend before last, when I was sleeping at my friends bungalow. My friends told me that I was screaming "die, die!" for a little while, and i was smashing in my sleep all the while my legs were going. The weirdest one was that once I was playing in a tournament in my sleep and I feel off my bed with a jerk (diving possibly?)....you know you are addicted to badminton when.....lol RJCMGP
Whoo..*sigh of relief*....guess i'm not the only one that does such things in their sleep. I've woken up many times because my arm was banging against the wall from an imaginary smash or clear. It was pretty scary at first, but I got used to it. ^^ Badminton Rulez!
I don't remember dreaming about badminton. Usually I don't dream at all. Most of the time, after a long day at badminton my leg starts twitching when I sit down at the comp. haha really weird.
oh yes...that happens to me too...i sleep right next to the wall in my room. and the wall is next to my right arm, so i hit it alot when i swing my arm in my sleep whilst dreaming about badminton. i also do jump smashes in my sleep, except mine are extraordinary in which i jump really really high. then i wake up on the way down and i feel like i just fell. its the feeling you get after someone lifts your body up and drops you. you feel like your in free fall then you hit the floor or other thing. its weird...maybe i was levitating in my sleep or something...
I think we should have a name for this disease or w/e it is. Maybe something with a phycological twist. Maybe Badminton obsessions snydrome?
hey i know one cure. sleep on your arm so it falls asleep and you cant move it. ive found out many times when i wake up i had some strange dream and my body is moving but my one arm is just stuck there cuz i fell asleep on it.
Hahaha... what if your arm is THAT strong it manages to lift your body up? Or you sprain it in the process of a smash?
*tsk* *tsk* People, there's more to life than just badminton you know? Never had dreams about badminton. I don't even think those Top 10 players either - they probably had enough badminton, thus they want something else to think about. But then again, consciously, I had been 'slicing' the air with my wrist as if holding a racquet face up, mimicking a net shot very often of late... does this count? Guess not.
Archdevil could be right for one thing. I visualized the correct way of doing things (stroke, smashes etc) a lot during free time, constantly replaying what I have seen or assumed to be correct. Akin to mental training, it seems to do a lot of good to make myself ready to execute the shots that I visualized when I step onto the court. Feels as if the body would follow better once the brain 'does' the move frequently enough. I find myself doing strokes and shots which I would otherwise take too long to learn by practice alone Any comments on this? I'm sure some of you would agree.
