How about a free trial period for:
Mr Twister, Tank, porroy, sealman and other interested BC members like yourself...

Ct 6 background not good. As a suggestion, good to put a curtain betw court1-4 and 5-6 to avoid distractions.

Reasonable for those who really need courts

Hoped they will turn on the air con for Premier Courts after paying premium fees as they do not last year

No wonder some organisers had mentioned will start new session at SBH while we know it was full for 2013.

We will also consider SBH too

Oldhand, are you able to quote the booking fees before the hike, for a comparison?

I wonder if the hike is due to an increase in rental? The court surface were not cleaned (swept or mopped) as they were fragments of feathers all over. SBH should also make taut the surfaces that became folded over time.

These basic safety measures should be maintained, as their charges are now twice as much as those of SSC.

Unless it's a high-level tournament, the air-conditioning is turned on only on Members' Night (which is every Tuesday).

If I remember right, the peak-hour rates were $12 for the Deluxe Courts and $15 for the Premier Courts. If so, they have gone up by $4 and $5 per hour respectively

I don't think the property's lease suddenly became dearer.
It's probably tied to the cost of all those changes in the lighting.

From the initial vapour lamps, they have cycled through multiple variations of LED lighting.
And it looks like they aren't fully done yet (they were working on it even last Sunday).

You're right about the folds in the playing surface.
Deluxe Court 3 is a fertile ground for sprained ankles

Everything had gone up including shuttles

Believed the "birds" will increase again after CNY

Sad case. No choice I guess. As long as there are demands.

In general, for advance players, increase of fees justifiable (2,3,4 shuttles per game). They whip the shuttles like changing underwear. Can't say much of beginners or intermediate groups (max 2 shuttles?).

It seems the negative feedback has had at least a few results.
During the CNY break, they are relaying some of the surfaces.

Hopefully, this sort of court maintenance will be a regular feature.

Only do maintenance during CNY is not enough as the rubber mat may have worn out even long ago before have time to replace during CNY.

The lights (initial vapour lamps, they have cycled through multiple variations of LED lighting) as mentioned by Oldhand where we can see in picture 1 and 2 looks good.

Looking forward to host some of our sessions at SBH now as it seems the hall looks perfect as earlier the lights there are bad and not worth to pay so much to "enjoy" the glare from the lights.
But they should consider install a water cooler for everyone's convenient.
