Does anyone know the string of choice and tension used by the top 10 players? At least in the singles category. Maybe we can compile a nice list of what string the pros use. Men's singles LEE Chong Wei LIN Dan CHEN Long Peter Hoeg GADE Taufik HIDAYAT CHEN Jin Tien Minh NGUYEN DU Pengyu Sho SASAKI Boonsak PONSANA Women's singles WANG Yihan WANG Shixian WANG Xin Saina NEHWAL JIANG Yanjiao Juliane SCHENK LIU Xin (F) Tine BAUN CHENG Shao Chieh BAE Youn Joo
Yup! 30 lbs. Taufik Hidayat uses BG66 Ultimax 32 lbs. Lin dan used to use BG65 30 X 33 lbs. I don't know about his Li Ning string. PG uses BG80 36 lbs (not sure) CMIIW.
Taufik Hidayat is using and endorsing BG66UM and as far as I know Peter Gade is a (long time) BG80 user, sorry I don't know either of their tensions. Unfortunately there seems to be very little information around regarding the Chinese players choice of strings and tension since they switched to Li-Ning, and very little about Li-Ning strings generally! Why restrict this to just singles players?
There is no such thing as 30x33lbs tension especially with the professional stringers who all do the same tension for both the mains and cross strings for convenience. FYI LD uses a range of tension from 30 to 33lbs depending on "mood". So does LCW, too at exactly the same range as LD although he has been using mostly only just 30lbs recently.
Hmm strange I can't edit my first post. I thought including doubles would be too many players but sure, if anyone know what the top 10 doubles are using please do post it. Anyway, an updated list. It seems they change tension according to mood so I'm not including tension: Men's singles LEE Chong Wei - BG66S LIN Dan - BG65 CHEN Long Peter Hoeg GADE - BG80 Taufik HIDAYAT - BG66UM CHEN Jin Tien Minh NGUYEN DU Pengyu Sho SASAKI Boonsak PONSANA Women's singles WANG Yihan WANG Shixian WANG Xin Saina NEHWAL JIANG Yanjiao Juliane SCHENK LIU Xin (F) Tine BAUN CHENG Shao Chieh BAE Youn Joo
Peter Gade was saying in one of the bwf magazine videos that he plays with 34lbs tension. I think its episode 4 of the magazine show.
^Holy crap BG80 @ 34 lbs. How does it not snap every match. Does this list look right? Men's singles LEE Chong Wei - Yonex BG66S LIN Dan - Yonex BG65, Li Ning NS95 CHEN Long - Li Ning NS70 Peter Hoeg GADE - Yonex BG80 Taufik HIDAYAT - Yonex BG66UM CHEN Jin - Li Ning NS70 Tien Minh NGUYEN DU Pengyu - Li Ning NS70 Sho SASAKI Boonsak PONSANA Women's singles WANG Yihan - Li Ning NS70 WANG Shixian - Li Ning NS70 WANG Xin - Li Ning NS70 Saina NEHWAL JIANG Yanjiao - Li Ning NS70 Juliane SCHENK LIU Xin (F) - Li Ning NS70 Tine BAUN CHENG Shao Chieh BAE Youn Joo
cant believe anybody of the Topplayers are using the Li-Ning Strings (NS70)... mine only rest 2hours with 26-28lbs...
Most of their players use NS70.. they should be similar in durability to bg80. maybe an old batch. or was just unlucky I have broken bg65s in 2 hours as well, if poor luck.. But maybe quality issues?
OMG guys, this is amazing, I switched to Lin Dan's exact setup and now I play as well as Lin Dan. Going to try Peter Gade's racket and string combo and try his trick shots tomorrow. LOL.
I Just asked Jan O at livechat about strings and tension, and he says he doesn't know what he plays with xD He only knows it's Li-Ning and about 14-15 kg.
He doesn't use that tension! I was speaking to his restringer at the all England this year and he said her was having 33 horizontal and 36 vertical
actually Taufik strings his rackets at 36 lbs recently. Here is a pic of his racket being strung at the All Englands
Hello. Actually, everytime I get my string done, which is 28lbs. What does it mean when it is 30x33 lbs? What is the different from? Pls Advice.
