Lol, Kanako seems to be saying: "ぃぃね!", which I believe translates to something like Attagirl!

Inthanon struggled to overcome Aya Ohori. Looks like Nozomi the Great is going to take the GS title.

Yuki Fukushima meeting Sindhu again, an opponent whom she had thrashed 21-8 21-13 in the junior team event.

Yuki is not, IMO, in the same ranks as Nozomi the Greatest.

I think that's a little optimistic. Noz is still learning the ropes. Look at Rat and TTY this year–insane performances mixed in with awful inconsistencies. Top 25 would be a good, steady achievement for Noz in her first full year on the circuit. No need to rush her.

Anyhow, I like the way she is progressing. Another year means she will get bigger, stronger and smarter on the court.

Perhaps. Didn't quite like her play in the video match against Nozomi, although the score was close enough, 20-22 17-21. She also has good results against other strong players too, including Sindhu, and she is quick with her feet. Yuki opens her shoulders when smashing, somewhat like Tine Baun, whereas Nozomi's is square to the net. Clearly, among the two, Nozi has a lot more power.

And maybe taller too, like LXR. It was fun to see WX having so much problems with those steep smashes.

I'm quite surprised but glad when I see Hana just 16 yr old but already no 1 in taruna. I hope next year can see Setyana Mapasa in AJC/WJC.

Oops, forgot to mention that she has her own thread:
