Lightbulb Collective Opinions with Alternatives to Yonex

I've been reading extensively here at BC everyday for past few weeks. Realised there are many good brands/made besides "King" Yonex and the next most popular being Victor & LiNing but there are many more! And the commonly asked questions will be "Which is better/comparable racket to mine?" (including myself )

I wish to find out more of other alternative brands/made, such as RSL, Apacs, ZELM, Panda etc., in a collective overview manner, from experts/experience BC-ians, such as brand, originated, quality, strength & weakness, rackets famous for... I think this will help lots of friends, who wish to try out new alternatives without relying on usual "branded" marketings, be more exposed & make wiser choice.

Alternative Made I'm exposed to for time being (I'm sure many more) :
    RSL -
    Apacs -
    ZELM -
    Panda -
    FZ Forsa -
    Calton -
    ProAce -
    Gosen -
    Mizuno -
    Sintec -
    Wilson -

    Thank you

i have tried many of the top of the line Flypower and they are excellent rackets. in fact, not much different than Yonex ones.

Where can you buy those in North America? Or did you borrow them?

    Welcome to BC!

You will find many threads under the Equipment sub-forum (where your own thread is, incidentally!) that provide user's opinions as well as their reviews of many different racquets. Many users will also compare racquets and features.

You just need to spend enough time on the forum to go through all the various threads. Start with the thread titles... Also, it is always a good idea to read the stickies in the sub-forums forst; you will find much good info there!

You could also visit the manufacturers' websites for more technical information on their products.

Remember: there are literally hundred of racquets available to choose from, and it will be difficult to categorize them without being subjective.

BTW, you forgot Dunlop, Flypower and Kimoni

Hi Administrators & Moderators, is it because I'm a new member here thus can't edit my post? Otherwise it'll be good that I can update info input by fellow experts here...

Hey, I saw one of the players use this brand recently at a BWF tournament; and I'm not talking some no name player. Boonsak maybe... I can't recall.

Hi cobalt, thanks for the advice. I've done lots of readings here in BC except manufacturers' site. Reason I'm starting this is because I've tried it myself, one would have to go through really very extensive research within every different threads, some even many pages each, to just to buy maybe 1 or 2 rackets. They'll most likely end up with the regular popular brands, missing out on possible better yet cheaper ones. I just hope newcomers or enthusiasts to have a general idea of whats available & yet reliable info cos used by experienced pals here before. I know this will be pretty subjective reference but this will definitely help them narrow down to the brands to do further readings as to which model suits them.

there are just way way way too many brands to do any sizable type of comparison. there was a thread that one of the BCer started and we must have counted 60+ brands? how is it possible to do a comparison of each?

best is to find out what is available in your area and narrow it down to a few brands.

    Hi Kwun,
Oh, I'm not aware as I did search through here in BC for alternative brands of rackets but in vain thus started this. Fully agree with you that there'll be enormous numbers of brands. Was just thinking to do a simple info gathering as a general introductory for interested newcomers like me.
