It seems to me that badminton has a larger share in scenarios where certain national players refuse to be trained by their coaches? Why do scene like this occur?Who employ the coaches ? The players or their country? I mean do the players get to voice out the selection process? Thanks
It's easier to blame a coach for your weaknesses than it is to admit that you're just not that good. One player in England refused to train with a coach on the basis that he had a bias to another player (that was my understanding of what went on) it's just petty things that lead to these situations. The coaches are normally supplied by the national governing body based on the budget they have and the accolades of the coach, the players may have a voice but it'll probably be a committee that makes the decision.
