GAMMA Progression II 602
Hi guys,
Am seriously thinking about this stringing machine. In fact im a click away but decided it may be prudent to run it by the folks at BC first.
http://www.atssports.com/tennis.cfm?product=269
The quality seems better than Eagnas, and price wise, its about the same.
Do i need the badminton supports available on the accessories page to use this machine?
Whats your opinion on this machine. I do want a six point support, but the machine is strictly for personal use only.
Looking forward to your opinions and advise.
Regards,
asmd.

Gamma is well-known for its good quality.
You may buy badminton side-support pads and badminton flying/floating clamp.
Also please ask ATS Sports for the badminton frame-support for this model.
I have Eagnas Flash 727E with similar side-support with this machine.
I bought badminton side-support pads from ATS Sport back in 2009, and used load-spreader instead of frame support.

Thanks for the reply.

Does fixed clamps help in stringing badminton rackets?
the FC version doesnt cost much more.
I called ATS and they said only the clamp at the head would be needed. This one - http://www.atssports.com/tennis.cfm?product=2297
but he said the shoulder mounts were not required.
Ive heard otherwise, can anybody confirm?

thanks for the reply silentheart.
between the two version of the 602, does the fixed clamps come in useful for stringing?
most tutorials here only use flying clamps. is its useful, may go for the 602 FC.
this is a one time investment for me.
btw... on a related note, is the wise head compatible with the 602?

1) This machine is for tennis when you order. Reg side supports, I take it back, you don't need it if you can not bargain them for free or deep discount.
2) Since it is a drop weight and you are using it for badminton mainly, fix clamps are not that important. In fact, it is hard to get to the main 10 and last cross.
3) I believe there is a adapter from Wise you can buy to mount it on 602. However, unless you are going to string a lot of racquets, drop weight is sufficient once you got use to them.
Look into the Klippermate stringing instruction, they are almost same. just the mounting is different.

in earlier 2009, the frame head support is not available yet, so I used load-spreader instead.
to me shoulder mount is necessary for stringing non pre-weave badminton racket, but others may not need it.
you can find the video of Mark A. how to string badminton with fixed-clamp and without pre-weave.
