    lol.

i recently started an interesting exercise.

i went to the tool box took out the clawhammer. probably weight a couple of pound. i then use it to hit a shuttlecock that is hung from the ceiling using a string.

the idea is to hit the shuttlecock repeated as many times as i can. my record is 15.

it is difficult due to two reason:

    the damn thing is heavy
and it is tiny. very easy to mishit

i noticed that my wrist is super sore afterwards. i guess that's good?

the key is to maintain or break my record. which is great for motivation and i probably end up doing 100+ reps of it each time.

in terms of weight, it is not much different than this:

i just stole my sister's 1lb pink dumbbells and practise flicking my wrist with it :p

    water bottle works too.

i like kwun's idea though. how many birds (shuttles) have you killed?

Now I just need to figure out how best to make it into a wrist-trainer.

Be careful of doing too much weight training exercises on your wrist and forearm, as it can cause you to lose hand speed.

As I understand it, you want resistance, not weight.

this is strength training isn't it? i learn from gym trainer that badminton uses more muscle on burst and therefore its the transfer of speed swinging from your hand to the shuttle thats decides the velocity in the flight of the shuttle, i train with my heavy racket and sometimes maybe wrap it with plasticine and swing my stroke 100 times for each stroke
