    Exclamation How to distinguish the goose feather and duck feather?

    Do you know how to distinguish the goose feather and duck feather? will you pay attention to what kind of feathers are used when you purchase the shuttlecocks?

    1. on the back of feather:
    goose feather with no lines or lines are not clear.
    duck feather with lines or lines are very clear.

    2. on the contrary side:
    goose feather with a clear channel.
    duck feather with no channel or the channel is not deep.

    the durability for goose feather is better than duck, and the price is higher.
    the difference for these two feather is delicate, duck feather is thinner than goose feather, if don't use bleach, duck feather is usually more white, but bleach will hurt the feathers.

    Thanks for sharing Enya, exactly right, goose feather is more durable, duck feather is more white if not bleaching, very detailed and professional ...

    Along the "shaft" of the feather, there is a groove in the goose one. The duck one doesn't have a groove but has those "lines" instead.
    This is fascinating stuff. We learn something new on BC everyday.
