I noticed a split grommet (8th from the bottom center) on my Arc8dx. The string is now resting on the frame. What do guys think I should do? I've attached some photos. It's the grommet smack in the middle of the orange paint. The string now rests on the frame instead of being raised. I'm mainly concerned about the bare grommet hole. Thanks in advance. More info: String is nbg95 @ 26lbs
There shouldn't be a problem, since the string isn't 'cutting' into the frame .... yet. But for me personally, i would just re-string and change the grommet asap .... i don't like taking unnecessary risks, i love my rackets.
Slightly off topic ...... I may be a bit picky .... but i just hate it when after stringing, i find stuff like this. (see green arrow) Although i know it doesn't affect the tension or playability, i normally 'straighten' it out myself once i see it.
I love my rackets too but I don't want to spend money unnecessarily cuz I'm cheap. I know of cutting issues but since its not high tension and the frame appears to be holding up I think I just monitor the frame area more diligently. How would you straighten it out? I would think its quite difficult to lift it back onto the grommets.
No worries .... i know what you mean. Cutting a good string to fix a busted grommet can be heart-breaking. :crying: As for the 'wedged' string ..... i use a smooth, thin piece of plastic, slide it under the string, gently lift it up slightly and re-position the string back on the grommet.
hi.. i need an urgent advise on my racket condition... after playing a game, i found out that my flypower super power 93 grommet (i think there are 2 grommets) was broken.. at the moment the string still located on top of the other half of the grommet (while the other half was gone)... will it damage the frame? should i cut the string to replace the grommet? or should i let the string broke itself then replace the grommet... ur advise is really appreciated... i love this racket so much... i will attach the picture as well for ur reference... many thanks
