I find this thread very amusing, especially how everyone is interpreting her accent. I am English and how she speaks is perfectly natural to me, especially with regards to her accent/intonation. I find American commentators for example very amusing too!

Then all the vital questions could be answered: "How did she get the job?"; "Why does she mispronounce names?" ;"Who does her lovely hair?"; "Is John Burgess a good dancer?"

She definitely knows him and has mentioned him in the past but the relevance may be lost on the wider audience. The guy is so low profile. I would doubt saying Tang Xian Hu would make people realise this is the man who is the basis of China's success in the last decade.
