Hi All, Recently I've done some reading on yonex racquet, found out there are some racquet that are made in Taiwan and thier stiffness are extra stiff - stiff which are AS008 and AS009DX. But I would like to know how much string tension it can withstand since the label is recommending 25lbs only. can it be strung at 28lbs or 29lbs? Hoping for some input from Pros
You can string that high tension but you have to bear the consequences. Cannot claim from the distributor when your racket broken because you strung over the recommend tension and your racket may not be as durable as strung in low tension.
i already bought Arcsaber008 strung 25lbs vertical x 25.5lbs horizontal. I can say it is stiff and evenbalance+head heavy. after strung and griped.... the balance point is so similar to VT80.... stiffness just like VT80 and the size of the iso frame just exactly same as VT80 from front view the frame is abit slimmer and sharper than VT80. From side there head size are the same. and ofcourse VT80 and slimmer shaft.... cant wait to try it!
For me i think as008 has the speed + a little bit of head heaviness. If u can hit the sweetspot basically it does give a great power. how power? im not that sure, cuz i donno how to meassure but enough to kill. Im not sure whether it is the string causes the sound different, if compared with my VT80 the 008 sound is sharper. Overall i feel 008 is stiff racket. not much vibration on impact. My Clear almost effortless, just need to use ur wrist more. Frame design is aerodynamic. VT80 sometimes i actually feel i very much depending on the head heaviness while im playing, use alot arm power.
