You Know You're Obsessed with Badminton when...

    1. You play more than 3 times a week.
    2. You own more than 3 rackets.
    3. You know how to string a racket
    4. You would rather play badminton than go on a date.
    5. You've broke more than two rackets.
    6. You've cried over a broken racket.
    7. You break your racket strings every few months.
    8. One of your goals this year is to get a YONEX sponsorship.
    9. You are going to attend more than 3 HP tournaments during the upcoming season.
    10. You have a badminton coach.
    11. You have birdies as decoration.
    12. You can do a decent backhand smash.
    13. You dream about doing a backhand smash.
    14. Your favorite thing to watch is badminton.
    15. You would skip school just to go play badminton.
    16. If your parents foundd out your skipping school, the first place they look is your badminton club.
    17. You never used a racket for more than a year.
    18. Your badminton shoes fall apart after 3 months of playing.
    19. Your strings break so often that its cheaper for your parents to buy you a stringing machine and make you learn how to string rackets.
    20. Everybody knows you at your local sporting goods store.
    21. In a conversation, you can go on and on and on about badminton.
    22. Your always wondering about how your going to improve your game.
    23. You would rather wear a YONEX track suit than any other brand's track suit.
    24. Your parents is beginning to wonder if your obession is healthy or not.
    25. You would practice footwork while walking to school.
    26. You keep trying to get that one perfect jump smash.
    27. Every time you look at your legs, you always think of ways to improve your footwork.
    28. You are playing at atleast one club.
    29. You would spend your winter break and march break playing badminton.
    30. You've spent your allowance on muscle rubs.
    31. When you lose to someone, you would always make up excuses.
    32. Badminton shoes are always tighter than casual shoes, however, you feel more comfortable in badminton shoes.
    33. You ARE planning to go to China or any other country to train sometime in the near future.
    34. You train atleast 2 hours a day for badminton, whether you actually touch a racket or not.
    35. You've went through two pairs of badminton shoes.
    36. You don't feel comfortable playing with another person's racket...even if his has the latest one.
    37. You've played badminton in your dreams.
    38. You plan on getting coaching degree in badminton.
    39. You play badminton the night before your exams.
    40. When you hold hands with your girlfriend / boyfriend, you can't help but wonder which grip is more effective. Backhand or forehand.
    41. You can write a whole speech on the difference between the NS9000 type S and the NS9000 type X
    42. You keep your broken raquets because they have sentimental value.
    43. You plan your whole school year/summer vacation around tournaments and training
    44. You actually care whether you are using a black night shuttle or a Yonex shuttle.
    45. You are extremely bias to one company (eg Yonex) and will not touch a product from any other unless forced to (eg Victor)
    46. You check the Yonex website daily
    47. You are the first of your friends to own a new raquet.
    48. You save up your money for years to buy that fabulous better-than-ever raquet that your parents say you dont need and you end up switching back to your old one because the new one doesnt feel right.
    49. You keep the unused raquets as "training raquets" even though there's hardly a difference in weight.
    50. You become highly possesive of your equipment and treat it like your baby.
    51. You are able to do one of those raquet tricks or bird-pick-up tricks.
    52. When you watch a badminton game, you analyze the players and think of ways how you can beat them.
    53. You would rather be seen walking around with a badminton racquet over your shoulder than with a celebrity.
    54. You get random urges to play during class.
    55. You practice backhand serving at home.
    56. Jump smash is the coolest thing ever.
    57. You'd rather watch a badminton game than a movie.
    58. You'd spend 10 minutes to set up the nets to play for 59.You know exactly what strings, what colour and what tension to get your racquet strung even before it breaks.
    60. You have loads of grip.
    61. When you hit off centre, you feel gross. When you hit the sweet spot, you have an orgasmic feeling.
    62. You take your racquet out of the case just to look at it and feel it.
    63. After each game, you assess the damage done to your racquet from hitting the frame and rub off the marks.
    64. You've slept with your racquet beside you.
    65. You've eaten with your racquet beside you.
    66. You get angry when you see someone wasting precious court time with bad technique.
    67. You want to run into a game and smash their bird and run off. just me? okay fine...
    68. You've gripped other things with your extra badminton grip.
    69. When watching a game you say things like "i would've done..." "he shouldnt have..." after every shot
    70. You can listen to an audio recording of a badminton game just because the bird to string sound is so sexy.
    71. You can tell the weight between birds after hitting them.
    72. You can spend hours looking at different racquets in a store.
    73. Your racquet breaking is worse than a breakup with your significant other.
    74. A chip on your racquet depresses you for weeks and makes you want another one of that racquet.
    75. You can scoop a bird without touching the frame on the ground.
    76. Whenever you get the urge to buy something, grip, goggles, and/or birds are top of your list
    77. You worry about shortage of birds
    78. You have one or two colour grips that you play with, and if you ever get another colour, it feels different to you
    79. Being able to scoop the bird in the air is your pride and joy
    80. You wear your team track jacket to school just to prove badminton is a real sport and that you play it.
    81. You also want to just show off with the snazzy new jacket.. Your friends think you have waaaaaaaayyyy to many raquets.
    82. You feel you need a backup JUST like your first raquet, AND a backup in case your backup breaks
    83. You think your raquets have feelings and will be rejected if you dont play with them all.
    84. You bring your own raquet to school during the badminton unit, and feel proud when people want to hold it, yet feel nervous at the same time when they try something fancy.
    85. For your birthday, you are allowed to go to that tournament thats "more-out-of-the-way" (eg for me, Ottawa or Winnipeg)
    86. You YouTube badminton games.
    87. You rewatch YouTubed badminton games.
    88. You would rather hold you racket rather than your girlfiend's hand.
    89. When your getting robbed, you pray that the robber doesn't look into your badminton bag.
    90. You can write a book on the difference between male technique and female technique.
    91. You feel that playing singles or doubles is useless, time is better spent doing footwork by yourself.
    92. You've tried kicking people off courts at clubs/community centers just so you would have a court to practice footwork.
    93. You've tried hogging courts at a club/community center by telling others to play you for it.
    94. When you win a tournament, your family look at it as a religious holiday...
    95. When you lose a tournament, your family look at you as if your a disgrace.
    96. You've taped badminton over your porno video.
    97. You look at a break up as more time for badminton.
    98. You get pissed off when you tried playing feather with noobs and they ended up killing all the feather in one shot.
    99. You get pissed off when your stuck playing with noobs.
    100. You start freaking out when your not considered a seed for the tournament.

    On a good week I play 3 times a week for 3 hours a time.....9 hours in all :eek: I have had flu this week and I am so damn itching to get back and whack some shuttles :D

    Not so sure about some of the Yonex bias, playing with any shuttle is better than not playing.

    Actually looking back, I don't agree with 99, any time spent playing badminton is time on court.

    or
