The draw as published through BWF website (updated 1st November 2011) : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file_download.aspx?id=39944 Barring any upsets/WDN/walkover, LCW v LD scenario may happen at semifinal
Fortunately, there is no CHN player in LD's path to final Wow, excited to know the result of rematch WSX vs TTY not good drawing for LYD/HJE, ZN/ZYL should take this, I think. Most southeast Asian players will be missing, from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, also NTM from Vietnam. But.. hey... Malaysia will play best players here including LCW, KKK/TBH, WPT/CEH, GLY/CPS so, Malaysia does not hope for any gold medal in Sea Games..?
I think by now we should know Lin Dan is more than capable of losing not only to Chinese players, he has gone international!
Yes, CL will have 2 WO before Final.........QF from DPY and SF from CJ !! This also have to depend on the result from the other half, If LCW managed to proceed...then CL will be there !! If LD beat LCW to enter final........CJ will be in the final to boosts his OQ points !!
Agree. There won t be any LCW-LD SF. Question is who will LD give WO to? But if LCW wins HKO, chances are he won t win CO. That s the problem with BWF. They don t have a system where the PSS should always precede the SS. It should be, so all players are equally fresh for the bigger money.
Next year..PSS will be ahead of SS as we have asked... Korea PSS is ahead of Mas SS Indonesia PSS is ahead of Singapore SS China PSS is ahead of Hong Kong SS Denmark and All England are sandwiched by Gold GP.
I don't think it will happen.. Either one will have 'something' before the semi final.. thats just my personal opinion
Since Lin Dan is drawn to face Lee Chong Wei in the SF, he could play truant again and maybe "loses" to Wong Wing Ki...to give the home crowd something to cheer about. As for Chen Long, he will enjoy a safe passage to the SF, where either Chen Jin or Peter Gade awaits him. Meanwhile, the only INA representative in the HKG SS this year, Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra face a tough task against Mads Conrad Petersen/Jonas Rasmussen. I might be there to support them in their first match.
It has been discussed in many threads: due to the bi-annual SEA Games. There's a target for PBSI to deliver the golds, so, they have to include their best players. Whereas, Lee Chong Wei and Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong are excluded from the MAS team.
It shows the different priorities of these countries. As host, INA needs to grab as many golds as possible. MAS prefers to let the "B" team gain experience at this level of tournament while the "A" listed players play the higher level event.
Looking forward and hope to see Tzu Ying make another upset to seeded player Wang Shixian!! And have a sweet revenge for her loss in China Open
