    Hi there people,

I am searching for some effective training programs/methods to train a local high school team in doubles & mixed doubles.

Hope to listen to some suggestions to some experienced coaches out there.
Feel free to express your opinions.

I appreciate your time to those who took the time to read this thread.

    Thank you very much!

You should try and practice Smashing, Drives and net kills

I asked for some mixed doubles advice a while ago too and what helped me the most was the following:
    - Watch youtube videos of top players and pay CLOSE attention to their movements, position, playstyle.
    - Play against another mixed pair and try not to win the point asap but try to incorporate what you saw in the youtube movies.

I played against another XD couple and agreed upon that with my partner. We tried not to win the point but prolong the rally, giving us more opportunities to adapt to the opponent's play. Some rallies took forever but it gave us ample time for rotation and teamplay. We lost in the end, but figured out a lot too during the game.

In a training environment, this is even easier because both teams will do this.

Everyone can smash, drive, drop. A good smasher does not automatically make an excellent mixed partner.

    Hi evolutionist,

There is loads of stuff on the internet but try these to start off. Subscribing to things on You Tube is generally the easiest way.

Coach Lee Jae Bok (coachingbadminton) has lots of clips where he uses under 16's. I think he sells a DVD that would be of help.

Also subscribe to BWF on you tube. There is an extensive section on coaching kids.
