Did someone compared the strings from Yonex and Victor? I'm going to buy a SW37, but I don't know which string i wanna choose. Actually I'm playing Arcsaber10 with BG80. BG80 lost the tension too fast and I'm also not really that happy with it. NG98 was much better. Especially I got more "Feedback" imho. Are there any Victor strings which are comparable to NG98? Or maybe zymax? How about VS850? Do they give a good "feedback"?
Hi, You need to get a new person to string for you. Your current stringer is not doing a good job and that si why your BG80 drop tension fast.
i love the vs850, i have it on various rackets like muscle power, carbonex, but for some reason, maybe it's just me but, i get the most feedback when i had it strung on my superwave 35 and bravesword 11. maybe because the sw35 and bs11 feel a bit "hollow" to me compared to my other yonex rackets. or maybe because the vs850 has a very rough surface and that suits my playing style?! either way i love the vs850 most yonex and zymax strings i've used have very smooth surface and i personally felt that is contributing factor to less feedback, just my personal opinion tho
I tried: NBG95, NEW zymax 67, and VS850 NBG95: slippery as hell VS850: nice but loses it's tension really fast NEW zymax 67 (there is new and old one, the new one has black package and red string) hold it's tension really well and nice feedback I used it for my tpro now after my VS850 broke (it's for my MX80), I use zymax 67 again now
my stringer mentioned that VS850 performs better with high tension ex 25-27, i had it at 25 n 27, nice metal sound.
Sorry, did you just describe the SW35 as hollow ? VS850 is great! but seems to break quick for me, could be something to do with the grommets though, as it seems to be the same place as last time.
heard from a stringer that Victor Strings is more dry compare to Yonex strings...and that is also why victor string less durable.
its unfair to compare yonex vs victor. Yonex have several lines and popular strings while victor only has the vs850 worth mentioning. if you like BG80, you should try Zymax67. vs850 is better only for the first week, then the tension loss makes you wanna cut the strings pretty soon but since you like to use low tension, try the ZM62 (or lining AP 62, which has better "feel"). i have use both of them on various tensions.
I recently just started using BG80 and I absolutely love them. I would like to try the VS850s when I can. I have been using the Zymax 67s for a few months, but I find they do not pack any power
Yonex, Ashaway and Victor strings are all decent strings. Your preference is purely that. It's been proved that Victor VS850 does not lose any more tension than other strings, but something seems to happen to the playability with the overall liveliness changing. I have used or tested virtually the entire range from each of these manufacturers. In my opinion Victor strings are very good and I would include NS880 and VS800 too. VS800 is used by all Chinese Taipei team. I have a long history of using both Yonex and Ashaway strings. As I said earlier string choice is a personal thing and it's one of those difficult areas for players finding their ideal string and tension combination. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
Great scientific analysis Paul! "Something happens" .... I wonder what? If someone looked at the string under a microscope they may spot something?
