This is not a good joke.

    In a team event, all team members are parts of a body. I look at the team players this way;
    Singles No.1......The head
    Singles No.2......The upper body
    Singles No.3......The lower body
    Doubles No.1.....The arms
    Doubles No.2.....The legs

If any parts of the body are not performing well, it's not easy for the whole team to win.

that's just might be what LYB will do. In Group Stage, LXR has to play every day, whilst one of the three Wangs will have exactly one day off each. In Knock Out stage, LXR won't play but all three Wangs will enter on both Semi Final and Final.

But chances are, WSX won't have to play on both Semi Final and Final, since it is likely that China will win either 3-0 or 3-1.

what i am worried about now is China's chance of winning Thomas Cup. Both FHF and CY have to take care of their wives and babies. But that's for another thread.

Yes it's question of how strong their opponent Japan or Korea is going to be hahaha to let WSX play..i can 100 guarantee WSX is needed on the basis of head to head record.

It will be logically flawed for LYB to drop WSX against Korea and Japan and take such a big gamble against them. UNLESS his real intention behind the scene is to hopefully find an excuse to pin a blame on one or two player SHOULD China suffer a shock defeat, then it will justify his actions in the London selection.

As far as i am concerned, i think LXR is playing very well these days and yes the All England final is definitely fixed...Wang Yihan committed far too many errors and she could actually afford to put a brave front smile. If I were her playing like that on that day, i would cry my arse off for underperforming in an All England because everyone wants to win it ..

Here is Li Xuerui's report card against some of the top WS players

    LXR 4 - Saina Nehwal 1
    LXR 2 - Tai Tzu Ying 0
    LXR 2 - Tine Baun 1
    LXR 2 - Bae Youn Joo 1
    LXR 2 - Sayaka Sato 0
    LXR 1 - Eriko Hirose 0
    LXR 3 - Juliane Schenk 0
    LXR 2 - Ratchanok Inthanon 1
    LXR 1 - Cheng Shao Chieh 1
    LXR 2 - Sung Ji Hyun 0
    LXR 1 - Porntip Buranaprasertsuk 0
    LXR 2 - Gu Juan 1
    LXR 4 - Yip Pui Yin 0
    LXR 2 - Yao Jie 0
    LXR 2 - Pi Hongyan 0

Against her own team mates, her record is quite bad, and IMO betrays her hesitancy and propensity to accord too much respect to her peers and seniors. I suspect all this is about to change, and very soon.

    LXR 1 - Wang Yihan 4
    LXR 0 - Wang Xin 5
    LXR 0 - Wang Shixian 2
    LXR 0 - Wang Lin 0
    LXR 2 - Jiang Yanjiao 0
    LXR 2 - Liu Xin 2

Not a shabby report card by any standard; pretty outstanding for a 21-year old. And she has been visibly improving all aspects of her game and mental control over the past year.

I'd go so far as to say that within the next 2 years (or thereabouts) she should make #1 ranking, and be able to hold on to that ranking for an extended period.

    ok, how about this:

    Group Stage:
Day 1: two wangs and LXR
    Day 2: three wangs

    knock out stage:
    QF: two wangs +LXR
    SF: three wangs
    F: three wangs

    any other proposal?

i think it would be depend on the opponent they would face with. but also think the same with u, in the group stage, all 4WS will get a chance to play to get some warm-up. and the one they decided to be the leader of the team (apparently would be WYH) seems to be played in every match, just like what always happen to LD.

Congratulations to Li Xuerui for winning the Badminton Asia Championships 2012. She took the finals pretty convincingly against Wang Yihan in 3 games, 21-16, 16-21, 21-9 and in the process has claimed the WS trophy in this event twice, the first time being in the 2010 edition.

With this win, I believe she has also put to rest any doubts that she now belongs to the very top tier of WS players. Her game and her composure seem to indicate that she possesses the ability to improve even further; and that's a scary thought for her opponents!

Nobody could actually beat her soundly since the German Grand Prix Gold Open...the only player that needs to be seen testing her is Tine Baun..If she could also beat/thrash Tine Baun in straight games, then Wang Xin and Wang Shixian are spent force and will be made redundant from the first team very soon.Wang Xin's head to head record will be meaningless..

The BAC definitely did not looked fixed. WYH and LXR were just going full tilt at each other. LXR looks simply invincible at the moment. The only person who can deny her an OG gold is LYB.

Li Xuerui is not tested yet against European players well only Tine Baun if i recall correctly. She is the only player Li Xuerui has not met recently.

If she could thrash Baun, then Wang Xin's head to head 10-0 could be redundant as well...the BAC proves she really should go to the Olympics to open everyone's eyes how good she is..

LXR will never better WX's record against Tine, because she lost to Tine last year. And incidentally, WX-Tine h2h is 9-0

It's quite scary to see her play at her peak.right now she is still in the development stage.

Since 2010 till 2011, she has played the minor role of footsoldier escorting any Wang she faces to the next round of any tourney. The role has made her got used to so many defeats and it has done her a world of good to her psychological strength.

Also, she doesn't seem to run out of gas....in rubber set, she could switch to a different gear and pounce you by surprise....simply frightening species...

poor WYH, WSX, and more is WX. they haven't win so much prestige titles, and now, a new contender already arrived. what makes it more hurting is that the contender is their teammate, their friend, and even their junior. hhhh

I still need to see the match against WYH from last weekend to get a view on her performance but from what I've read she is in tip top shape.

I hope she can carry on like this because she is VERY promising. I see her pushing for WR1 domination by the end of next year. I hope she can cope with the pressure.

People say LYB now has a choice for WS, but I think LXR's breakthrough is not just a coincidence. My guess is that LYB gave her the green light to change gears when WSX kept showing mediocre results. Nothing just "happens" in CBA. With LXR now on course, LYB has a fail-safe for those occasions when one of the Wangs fails. I do see WYH taking point for at least another year though. WX still has a VERY impressive record against non domestic players so she's still a real asset to the team. WYH is still arguably the best all-round WS around these days.

I'm a big fan of WYH, but at the rate LXR is going, I might well be presented with a very difficult choice :P.
