A significant change in the current setup of the WS stable in CBA is that Chen Jin is now quite clearly in charge. He has in all likelihood, been the driving force behind the resurrection -and reincarnation- of WSX, as well as the strengthening of some dangerously looming physical weaknesses of WYH, and these two players have appeared to have benefited greatly.

Meanwhile, LXR appears to have been in a sort of limbo- not knowing exactly what is expected of her, and she goes about trying out some new stuff and getting into a different mind-space as and when the opportunity presents itself. This tells me that she is still LXR- a very intelligent girl who observes and thinks, analyses and tries to come up with solutions that most other players would never attempt. She pushes the envelope herself, increasingly does not wait for her coaches to guide her attempts. Personally, I'd like to believe her next "project" is to completely own the net.

Now, the next few months should be propelling her towards an attitude of not playing/experimenting with her stable-mates on Sundays. When that finally happens, she will experience a satisfaction of knowing she is closer to closure.

Then, she will be able to walk away any time she wants. After all, maybe that is really what she wanted to "learn" from LD.

Meanwhile, she needs to ensure her physical condition and conditioning is #1 on the priority list. Just like LD.

No need to worry about LXR. She has all the tools to succeed as is. She just needs to take care of her body right now.

It is still a year away from Olympics qualification. There is no need to burn the candle from both ends at this point. LXR is still comfortably in front of the pack in terms of rankings. It's up to the other girls to jostle for positions.

With the long break coming up until the Uber Cup, LXR will re-assert herself again at the Uber Cup and in the tournaments after.

Other than her teammates, LXR is the most feared WS for the rest of the world. She is the best all around WS at this moment and have all the shots in the book. Barring any unforeseeable incidents, she will collect all major titles including the coming Olympic.

I think LXR's main priorities this year are two: World Champ and Asian Games. If I were her, I prefer not to play in Uber, to save energy.

If she loses in World Champ this year again, it will affect her qualification for Rio2016, especially she loses against a non CHN player.

Asian Games will be interesting. This year may be the last opportunity to win for WYH and LXR. If WSX wins it, that will boost her chance for Rio a lot.

To LXR, winning the Uber Cup is more important than the Asian Game title. She will win the coming WC.

An update on world #1. 6 events entered, 3 wins and 3 runner ups. 6 wins in Ubber cup. All 3 losses were to her teammates, 2 to WSX and 1 to WYH. Career winning percentage-83.61%. Current year-91.66%. Let see what will be transpired the following 6 months before 2014 comes to the end. Who will the first to defeat her this year other than her teammates, it is an interesting question? I doubt it will happen this year.

I heard badminton coaches still exercise corporal punishment in many parts of China. is it true?
