at 20 yrs of age. Li will be the key to China key to 2016 in WS. her match against WX in the French Open showed some very mature play even though shot choices are a bit rough at times.

Look like she but not WSX will be the future of Chinese WS. She played like WYH but more consistent.

    .
    If Li Xuerui can defeat an experienced Yao Jie so easily; 21-08, 21-09 in just 24 minutes, at the 2011 Bitburger Open, played just minutes ago;

I am sure that Li Xuerui will be a top/main CHN WS player in the next 1 year or 2.

LXR is still only 20 years old. Obviously she has demonstrated her potential by beating several players ranked way above her, in the recent months.

What remains to be seen is if she can at some stage make the transition from a player of great potential to a player of strong character. That is what IMO, defines champions. I think the next 1-2 years will tell the story.

I think the CBA will keep giving her exposure, but the focus will be on the top 3-4 WS players and bringing them up to prime condition and position in time for the OG. Meanwhile, LXR will be allowed to bloom. I am sure ZN and the others have identified her natural physical traits and advantages, as well as her present weaknesses. I feel she will only be given more latitude and attention post-OG.

LXR is seeded 5th at the Korea Open GPG in progress. But she stands a very good chance of walking away with the WS title here. The top seed JYJ has not been very consistent recently, and apart from her, there is not much else to stop LXR from taking the title.

LXR's H2H against Bae Youn Joo is 2-0
Her H2H against JYJ is 1-0

Past results favour LXR to lift the title. Lets see how it goes...

Her gameplay reminds me a little of XXF right handed version.

Congratulations Li Xuerui for winning the All England!!
    She looked so happy!
I am not surprised, she has been playing great for the latest couple of months. I think she was the fresher player physically in the final.

    maybe i was too conservative.

from her performance in the AE, LYB will have a hard time deciding between her and WSX.

her play is such a pleasure to watch. she has the power and dynamic of WX, gracefulness of GZC, the beauty of... erm.. nevermind.

but seriously, there are shots with angles and pace that we have seldom seen in recent years, a combination of her height and technique. her drives and midcourt defense is excellent. her body rotation is just pretty, remind me a bit of ZJW.

no. i am not in love.

Yes, she has big potential, she has quite incisive shots her movement is graceful and she is motivated and hardworking.

I think CHN should go for her in OG, because WSX likes fist pumping and shouting, but I think she is flaky.

Sure LXR is inexperienced, but it would be better to prime her for the future when WX or WYH should be able to come home with the Gold....

    .
I happened to watch the 2012 All England WYH-vs-LXR match.

I thought LXR was playing with correct tactical manner.

    (1) LXR found that WYH was slower to cover the fore-court (in that match), and therefore concentrating by winning more points directing shots there.

    (2) LXR was also allowed by WYH to play with more downward strokes.

From these 2 points, it wasn't a surprise that LXR won (playing with correct tactics).

what is LXR's chance of making it to the No. 4 spot by the end of April?

Surely, Saina wants to win India Open, and surprisingly LXR is not playing Swiss Open.

it doesn't matter if she makes it to 4th spot or not. that's because China can pick any 3 players, regardless of their ranking.
