Default 23 Times World-class Tournament Champion

One of the greatest badminton player in the world, Yang Yang of China has a record of at least 23 times champions in various world-class tournaments including all the major tournaments like Thomas Cup, All-England, World Championship, World Grand Prix, etc... between 1984-1990. Has any other player achieved more than this record?

Probably not in the "modern" era. By modern era, I mean
after China was allowed to compete in events such as the
    All England, Thomas Cup, etc....

Zhao Jian Hua was probably the most spectacular player
ever. But he was no where near as consistent. That's why
he always played as third singles on the Thomas Cup
    teams(until Yang Yang retired).

I myself am not too sure, as I'm going to learn more about badminton historics this week.
Hopefully any knowledge I can learn, I can pass on to you guys.

i came into badminton late so i missed yang yang, zhao jinhua, morten frost, sidek brothers, etc, However, i am forturnately to witness the legend statue of gu jun and ge fei in action. I think there is no agrument as to who dominate the women doubles.

well even Rudy Hartono alone has won the All-England 18 times (see guinness bk of records), not including world champs, thomas cup, WGPF and others

i'm sure he has more than yang yang's 23

Very nice to be loyal, but fact is Rudy only won All England 8x,

!8x means he would have been very old as first time at age 18.

Grand Prix only started in 1983.Of course rudy is one of

greatest, just different from Yang Yang.

Missing here are legendary Chinese players Hou Jia Chang and Tand Hsien Fu. Back in the 60's and 70's China was not part of IBF so never competed in tournaments sanctioned this organization. These 2 Chinese players beat every other player the world had then and won all tournaments where they entered. Exception is with Rudy Hartono as Indonesia never allowed their number 1 player to play whenrever Tong or Hou were present.
