Really interested to become full time and I just finished my high school, so I can afford the time. Problem is I have no idea what to do in order to get started. Can anyone give me some information?? Thanks
You are in HK? What you have to do is train to win competitions. Once you start entering competitions, people start taking notice of you. Have you played much before?
Have you played in competitions? Do you train in a club or do you join the training program by the HKBA?
that's the problem, I have no schedule of competitions, don't know how to join them and don't know any clubs in Hong Kong.
Then who have you been playing with for the last six years? ( I am assuming you live/lived in Hong Kong these last 6 years) If you can give more information about your badminton background, it would really help a lot in giving a better answer. And when you say you can afford the time..what does that mean? You are totally free for 1 day a week? All days of the week? For next week only? For the next 2 months? See what I mean Help us to help you get the answer that you need.
Well I played for 6 years with my team mates in and outside of school and that's all. Only recently did I get a coach and maybe will be asking him for some advice. In terms of time, I can confidently say that I can afford the time to play 15-21 hours per week. Also in terms of skills, I can say that they are not bad, but I just need a coach to tune some tweaks here and there. I hope this helps.
The average working week in hong kong is 49.6 hours so if you play that amount of hours a week, hey presto you are a full time player. If you are talking about becoming a professional badminton player you enter competitions and beg people to sponsor you and if you do well earn prize money.
